My family went here to enjoy the amazing Christmas light display. It took my family around 30 minutes to visit most of the light displays. There are various light fixtures staked into the ground and there are also trees decorated with lights. When we went, a portion of the lake's walkway was blocked off because of the slippery ice. There is free parking, but the space is limited. There were lots of people even after 8:00PM. If you are looking to shoot some photos with your family, I recommend the short arch ways with white lights. You can see them when you enter the lake from the parking lot. You can have your friends and family stand under one of the arches, making sure the view of other archways that curve around the lake is unobstructed in the background. Also, if you are visiting with a small group of people, you should consider going to the two long archways with connecting colorful blue, green, and purple lights. You take some beautiful photos standing underneath the shelter of such beautiful lights.
Wonderful Christmas Lights!! Beautiful walk around the lake. Takes about 30min. Parking is limited but cars move quickly. Dress warm, lots of families, keep pets on leash and pick up excrement. No food or drinks available.
Beautiful Christmas light display around the lake and their garden area. A few new light displays this year. Hot chocolate and mini donut stands open. Great free outdoor activity. Plenty of picnic benches for sitting. Lots of free parking. The ducks were active in the lake tonight. Great place to come on your own, with friends, for a romantic stroll, or with family.
A very pretty display of Christmas lights , walk with coffee during season for free. I was able to spend quality time with my friends just chatting and walking through . I tried their gingerbread latte with oat milk it was really yummy to try. I absolutely love this place.
My two friends and I and the kids came for a fishing derby today at Lafarge lake. There was a draw with prizes and free lunch. The lake/park it is top notch huge fountain right in the middle of the lake, paved walkway all the way around. There is a boardwalk and fishing peir to the right side. On the other side of the lake there are curved concrete bleachers and a stage for events. All around that is new landscaping they have put in pathways and new gardens, new grass looks really nice. There was volley ball nets aswell. Awsome view walking around and in the winter this whole park is Is heavily decorated with Christmas lights and decorations. Paid parking at skytrain parking lot, it's free at the collage.
We went for the Christmas lights and were not disappointed. So many lights and different displays to see. The kids loved it. Free parking but very busy so either go early or late. The SkyTrain is also very close. There were washrooms available but they had long lines
Tip: when walking around Lafarge Lake, it is one directional counter clock wise. Lafarge Lake is a wonderful park to walk around and enjoy the view. There are a lot of parking lots littered throughout the park and is walking distance from several skytrain stations. There are clean washroom facilities, a picnic area, and several sports fields. You can find families, couples, and joggers all doing their own thing and enjoying the park during all times of the day.
Go near the Christmas time and you will see the beautiful lights all over the lake and it’s free of cost just a quick reminder if you get hungry too quick just take your food along with you otherwise you have to drive or take public transit to get something to eat as it is little far away to get something good to eat
A nice and quiet lake Not very big but unique . If you need a very short trail around the lake to walk and chill it is the right place for you.
We love going to Lafarge Lake especially in the winter. The light displays are so beautiful. Everyone is very friendly. There are so many amazing community events. The lake is the perfect place to go with your family, friends, on a date or even on your own. My daughter and I had such a lovely time this evening. We enjoyed eating mini donuts, drinking ice tea and going to the Evergreen Cultural Centre Craft fair. So grateful that we love close to the park.
