Elizabeth is truly a miracle worker!! I ended up with two dresses for my wedding day, and she worked with me to make them both perfect. One dress was a bit of a challenge open back and she literally created completely new straps for the dress so I could wear it with a backless bra, and the dress would fit exactly how I envisioned. To say I was impressed with her work is an understatement.

Elizabeth is the perfect person to go to for your gown altering needs! She did alterations on my wedding dress and she was flawless! She clearly outlines how much each alteration will cost and offers options at different price points. She is a talented person and her craftsmanship was superb. I had multiple fittings with her to make sure my dress fit my body perfectly— not just hems and taking sections in/out, but really taking a nice dress to the best of the best by doing some hand work on the lace and refining areas where there was extra fabric, etc. I’d absolutely recommend her to anyone who is looking to take their dream dress to the next level!

If you're looking for a seamstress, look no further--Elizabeth is the creme de la creme! I would give 10 stars if I could! I was panicked trying to find a seamstress in time as the one that was originally recommended to me actually said my dress was too complicated to handle, plus she had never heard of the designer! I bought my dress from Berta in Soho, NYC at a sample sale. Other bridal salons in Toronto refused to work on it since it wasn't purchased in their store. Luckily, Elizabeth put my mind at ease from the moment I met her. She is exceptionally warm and friendly, super professional and of course extremely talented with an incredible eye for detail. She's not just another seamstress--she's a true artist. Elizabeth spent time explaining exactly what she could change according to my desires and was very clear on how it would work. Her honesty is so rare in this kind of industry, but definitely required when it's for such a significant life event! She made me feel very comfortable as her expertise is unparalleled because she's a designer herself. Elizabeth has an impeccable understanding of the construction of designer dresses and loves a challenge! I had a total of 5 fittings with her and every one was pleasant. She also made my veil. My dress fit me like a glove and everyone constantly told me I looked like I stepped out of a bridal magazine. I'm so grateful to Elizabeth--I would trust her with anything!

I am so grateful that I found Elizabeth and Lab'l. When I finally picked up my wedding dress from the store where I bought it, it fit completely differently than when I had first tried it on... it was too big, didn't sit right, and wasn't comfortable. I panicked and thought I had chosen wrong. Luckily, I found out about Elizabeth, who runs a cozy, personal and professional studio out of her home. She was extremely professional and accommodating, and while she was honest that my dress would need a lot of work we lovingly named it Goliath, she made me feel confident that we could make the vision come to life. She was creative, open and receptive to all my comments and requests, and best of all, she made the process fun, without ever sacrificing her professionalism and expertise. She promised I would feel amazing and own the dress on the day of the wedding a stretch for me and she was right. Incidentally, a month later a friend's dog decided to turn my wool coat into a chew toy and tore it, and she also repaired that seamlessly. You couldn't even tell it has been torn. All that's to say, I would highly recommend Elizabeth and Lab'l for any and all sophisticated design, couture and tailoring needs!

I love working with Elizabeth. I brought a wedding reception dress to her and she turned it into a dress that I love. Throughout the process she outlined everything that we would be working on and she would make sure that I am happy before proceeding. She taught me so much about wedding dresses and how they should fit on my body, I wish I had met her before I even went dress shopping. She is very meticulous and I only have good things to say about her.

I came to Elizabeth with my bridal gown because of the glowing Google reviews so I wanted to add my own. My dress arrived just a month before the wedding but she was able to make alterations to the straps lots of beading and hems lots of layers in just a few weeks. I bought a vintage style empire waist wedding gown with a beaded bodice. It was a stunning bodice but the empire waist with its heavy layers of fabric was not very figure flattering and would have been quite hot for my August wedding. After searching online I found Elizabeth’s Labl couture listing. I called and she suggested a consultation. Initially, I thought that the consultation may be a money grab but it was really Elizabeth’s diligence to provide EXACTLY what the customer wants. We discussed my gown and remaking a couple of other vintage dresses I own. I knew Elizabeth was someone who knew her stuff. Elizabeth is friendly, able to work within your budget, and provides a personal yet professional appointment. I decided to go ahead with my gown alteration. This was not long before my wedding so we had to get to work quickly! Elizabeth worked hard to meet my deadline. She made a dress I had fun walking down the aisle & dancing the night away in. Every visit to her studio I saw 3 or 4 other dresses I would have loved to own. I kept my drool puddle far away from the custom built long sleeve lace gown, the shimmering sample bodice with the custom skirt & 2 of Elizabeth’s personal flowing jewel tone gowns. Elizabeth tackled my job under the timeline constraints & within my budget to remake almost my entire dress. It really showed me the value of a custom fit dress making experience. I'm so happy I went with Elizabeth and Labl Couture. I brought her my mother's wedding dress, which is over 30 years old, hoping to have it remade so that I could wear it at my wedding, and I definitely feel I made the right choice! First, Elizabeth was friendly, professional and welcoming. Second, she's very good at what she does! I learned so much about things that I never would have thought twice about regarding working on a vintage dress. I had certain aspects of the dress I knew I wanted to change and keep, and Elizabeth and I figured out how best to do it at our appointments. Then she did such amazing work; I know she put a lot of care and energy into it and I'm so happy with the result. I'll post pictures after the wedding:

Elizabeth is amazing! I had ordered my dress online, received it 3 weeks before my wedding and required quite the alterationS. Elizabeth was so easy to talk to and was absolutely professional! She was transparent about everything and was always made each fitting so enjoyable. She is so talented and thankfully with her experience and familiarity with vintage clothing - I was truly in the best of hands! Because of this, Elizabeth made my dress everything I always dreamed of and couldn’t have asked for a better person to put my trust in her hands! I researched a lot of other bridal alteration options and decided I would rather put my money into someone with a high level of professionalism, skill and talent.
