Fantastic brunch spot. High quality eggs with really yellow yolks. The pork belly was made well and the presentation was spot on. The churros are warm gooey and wonderful. Would love to return to see the lunch/dinner menu.
Great location, great vibes. We went there the second weekend after the opening day. It’s was crowded with long waiting line outside and it was so cold but they promised to find a better waiting system in the coming days. Seating area was great. For the food we requested, It was amazing and delicious. Order took sometime to arrive but it was expected as the restaurant was full. I like it .
Was fortunate to be seated during a private event prior to their soft opening. Great food and service that one would come to expect if you’ve been to their other locations. Had the beef soup on their recommendation, along with the carnitas taco, fish baja taco, and an off-menu octopus taco for that night only. The beef soup was flavourful and hearty like a stew. Reminded me of a green pozole. The portion size was surprisingly larger than it looks. The tacos were solid as expected from their other locations. Quality ingredients on crisp, yet soft blue corn tortillas. I was told that their blue corn tortillas were made in-house at their Yukon location. The fish was soft and flaky. The octopus was fried and quite similar in taste to deep-fried calamari, but much chewier. Price-wise, it’s the same as their other locations around $7-8 per taco. Decent value for the quality of ingredients they use. The service was very friendly and attentive. The staff were quick to follow up on my order and were happy to answer questions I had about the menu and the location fully opening on Monday Nov 14 2022. The location offers plenty of heated and covered patio seating. Overall, very happy that La Taquiera has decided to open a location east of Vancouver. Will definitely be back when they fully open for the churro with dulce de leche!
Quite a nice place to get some good food. Guacamole was on point. Pastor style taco was good but didn't have an authentic Mexican taste but more of a fusion. Overall would highly recommend.
First time customer. Visited on a weekday lunch. The customer service here is spot on. The staff is very welcoming and genuine. They are clearly trying to make a strong first impression at this new location. Very accommodating atmosphere, plenty of seating. We had no issues with the food at all.
Went for happy hour on their official 2nd day open. Beautiful decor and set-up. Seems they already worked out the kinks with food service wait - what we ordered came pretty quick. Tried each of their happy hour tacos. All had great flavour, and paired perfect with beer might be a bit overwhelming if you don't drink. Surprisingly, our 5 year old loved the cauliflower one so we ordered a second. The others were spicy so perhaps not suitable for kids. Also ordered nachos with extra chicken more below. Huge gripe with service though. We noticed there was very little chicken added to our nachos and pointed it out to two staff. 1 Guy in white shirt floor supervisor? confirmed there was chicken in it and walked away. Seemed uncommitted to a good first impression. I watched him for a bit on the floor and didn't see him crack a smile to anyone. 2 Server explained that it was shredded and mixed in, but even added together the total amount of chicken for $6 was maybe the size of a quarter. He said he'd check with the kitchen and never got back to us. Felt friendly but insincere. Parking: 3 hour free parking via QR code in Brentwood Mall outdoor lots
It was our first visit and we had such a great time! The food was amazing and so were the drinks. Loved the ambiance of the place. Victor was very kind and was a great server! We will definitely come back again.
Hands down the best spot to grab a bite to eat at Brentwood & Vancouver for some authentic Mexican food. This last trip to La Taqueria we ordered differently & we’re blown away with the Enchiladas & a new dish on their Especialidades menu was out of this world! Last but not least you can’t miss out on their cocktail menu, from well thought out tequila drinks to more creative rum cocktails you can’t go wrong.
We were seated relatively quickly even with a short line. The staff were friendly. The delivery of our nachos and tacos were very slow. A table beside us that got seated much later, received their orders way before us. The guacamole side our waiter suggested for our nachos, that we ordered, did not arrive with our nachos and it was delivered later. We both ordered birria tacos and only one came with consommé, an amount that did not allow for dipping, the forgotten one was delivered later much fuller than the other. Overall, the food and margaritas were delicious, just some service oddities maybe to be expected with a new location. I’ll probably come back in the future when they’re in the swing of things.
Just opened up at Brentwood Mall outside. I came here for lunch and I can see this place being very popular come summer time. We had carnitas and the enchiladas are during happy hour. Both are delicious and filling. Lots of friendly staff to help us get through their menuFood: 4/5
