Amazing Italian restaurant from Puglia! I love how small the menu and all the dishes are amazing. Friendly customer service and you can tell that they make their food with love. They also serve bombolonis the best in Montreal! This is a restaurant that I can come back to anytime, any season! If you’re willing to try different Italian food this is the place to go!
The best authentic Italian cafe in Montreal. We ordered two different kinds of panzerotti pigliesi, Focaccia, Pasta, & meat balls. Food here guarantee you to taste out of this world. Pasta taste like Nana made. The service is also amazing. The chef & his teams are very friendly and professional. Love coming here and definitely will come back again.
Came here for lunch, knowing I wanted their fried octopus sandwich and ultimately had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to get. The best thing we had was the focaccia barese with figs, capocollo, spicy honey, burrata and evoo. This was divine. The focaccia was beautifully crusty yet light, milky and creamy from the burrata, fresh and sweet from the honey and figs, and a salty, nutty savoury flavour from the capocollo. We got the sandwich of the day which was a chicken cutlet sandwich with homemade marinated eggplants, burrata and arugula in a beautifully crusty yet fluffy and fresh ciabatta. Lastly, the Panino Polignano, octopus sandwich. Again, fresh bread was used and a generous amount of octopus tentacle, burrata and a cooked pickly rapini. There was a pretty good balance of acidity and richness but I wish there was a bit more crisp to the octopus and it was hotter. The space is very bright and clean with nice decor. Service is knowledgeable and you can tell they're genuinely excited about their own food.
I will travel for food, specially Italian food. Great place, cozy and real. Customer service was excellent. The food was prime, manage to eat a little of everything but those 3 were my favorite I will be back for sure.Food: 5/5
This place is proof that teleportation is real. It’s like someone took the heart of Puglia and brought it to this gem on St. Denis. Everything, and I mean everything screams Puglia, Italy here. The focaccia is top tier, the pasta makes you cry and miss your grandmother, the coffee is next level, the drinks are stupendous and PS there is a secret drink on the menu, the Mojito! If they have the ingredients, yes they do make everything fresh and use only finest ingredients in everything, be prepared to close your eyes and feel like you’re in a tropical getaway. I could go on and on about the experience here, but don’t just read it, go try it! It is by far one of the finest hidden gems this city has to offer.
The best Italian food I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Italy several times!! Feels like an Italian nonna made it, the eggplant Parmesan and Lasagna are my favourites, the focaccia is amazing and the Panzerotti are fresh and smell like pastry! The guys that run the place are super cool and welcoming too, Paolo and Luca are the best!
FAN TAS TIC. I felt like I traveled to Italy for an hour. The focaccia &burrata with figs is excellent and their espresso ReKico was sublime. Great value - highly recommend
Incredibly delicious Italian food and wonderfully friendly staff. Came on a weekday at noon and the place had just opened but there are already a few people inside. The staff had us seated, and took our orders, letting us know there were a few orders ahead of us but that they would begin our dish soon. The ambiance is lovely. Waited for about 20 minutes and then our focaccia dish came. I got the focaccia Bomba to share. It is enough for 2 to eat, coming with 4 pieces. It was incredibly delicious, the focaccia was soft and flavorful while the crust was crisp and sturdy. I tried to eat with a fork and knife but it’s very difficult to cut through without making a mess and forcing the plate. I recommend eating with the hands. It was incredibly tasty. 10/10 recommend. I would love to come back and try the focaccia sandwich or the tiramisu. You are free to sit as long as you like in the restaurant, the staff does not rush you even if you’ve finished your food : whenever you’re ready you just head over to the counter to pay. It is obvious the owners take pride in their service and offerings. Lovely place overall. Best focaccia I’ve had since I visited Italy.
So I went in with my husband because of the 5-star review I saw and the photos of the food, hoping not to be disappointed. From the moment we sat down, we started enjoying a unique experience because of the little things that matter, like the choice of plates, water glasses/jug, super comfy cushions on the stools that make sitting at the bar even more convenient than the reserved table section which they only have 3, each fitting 4-5 people to the way the owner takes your order! He asked us if it was the first time and then proposed to do a little tasting style order he asked us to trust him and we were glad we did. He made sure to know how hungry we were to not get us too much or too little. The food: So Good! What made it good is not the complexity but the quality of every ingredient used. The thought behind it and watching him prepare it with love, makes the whole difference to a client I believe. The taste was incredible and you can definitely taste the quality of not only their ingredients but kitchen talent too. Go there! Visit Paolo’s café and you will not be disappointed : Try the focaccia with figs and honey drizzle if you do and their house special Iced tea cocktail also their panzerotti
I love this place! I’ve been here for dine-in and takeout at least a handful of times, and each time the food was delicious. The focaccia barese is perfectly made. The other focaccias that come with toppings are a must to try personal favourites are: figs and burrata, and capicollo and burrata. The homemade orechiette feels like it was made with love personal favourite: rapini and sausage meat. The octopus sandwich never disappoints. I tried a panzerotti for the first time, and I will certainly be ordering it again! I tried the cheese. I took the Diavolo panzerotti to go, and that was delicious as well. Aside from the food, the owners and staff are so welcoming and kind, excellent service!
