Story

La Khaima c'est une tente nomade, un lieu de rencontre. C'est aussi un haut-lieu de l'hospitalité comme elle est pratiquée depuis toujours dans le désert, ou les visiteurs sont si rares que l'honneur est du coté de celui qui reçoit, il s'empresse d'offrir aux visiteurs ce qu'il y a de meilleur. Entrer à La Khaima c'est faire l'expérience d'une temporalité autre. On y vient entre amis et en famille pour fêter, pour gouter les cérémonies, les saveurs, les couleurs, la gastronomie et l'ambiance de l'Afrique.

Interesting place. Food was very tasty, there was a ton of it, and it was relatively cheap, especially for the quantity. Staff was very friendly and engaging. Some things to keep in mind: you have to sit/kneel to eat. Also if it's really cold out, sit as far as possible from the windows. It gets rather cold. And wear layers. But otherwise, and in less cold circumstances, it probably real comfortable. Decor is very.. Unique. And definitely charming. Would go back.

The atmosphere was incredible! Coming in on a cold November night this place felt like a cozy little oasis. I went with family during their set menu hours and I loved it!

Friendly staff, good hummus and soup. However main meal was mediocre at best. You did not have the chance to choose what you ate. There were no options, everyone ate the same thing, out of the same dish. Lots of filler. Beef was very sweet. Very uncomfortable seating for a group. Not worth the money.

This is not just my favourite restaurant in Montreal but possibly that I've ever been to. Not only is the food fantastic, but it is so much like going to dinner at an uncle or grandma's: comfortable cozy seating arrangements, family style service, multiple courses, and only 2-3 menu choices (usually meat and vegetarian). It is perfectly simple, but everyday the owner makes different dishes, so it's always a fun adventure to taste what he's made. It really feels like there is care put into every dish. The owner is also such a nice and welcoming gentleman, who makes everyone feel at home. I've never had this kind of restaurant experience: and I've been to a lot of nice restaurants around the world! An absolute must in Montreal.

very nice, authentic and cozy restaurant. the owner/chef is supper friendly. we were a group of 15 people and some of us arrived really late ( i think it was after they close ) and yet they were super patient and friendly. I'll definitely go back again.
