The owner was very friendly and considerate. Both dishes were recommended by him and they were absolutely delicious. We sat on the heated patio on the coldest night with the degree of -30. It wasn’t warm enough, definitely still chilly, but the food was so worth it.
This place is very special and unique. Real feeling of somewhere in Italy. I had minestrone soup a salad with an amazing fruity dressing and veggie pasta. My nephew had a pizza and he loved it! Thank you so much, will definitely come back again to this beautiful place in the summer!
Our first time here, booked La Grotta on Main for the Christmas eve dinner, wanted to have nice Italian dining experience, but it was the complete opposite!!! Kind of ruined our Christmas eve mood too. Service was SUPER slow. Only the red wine came fast, the rest waited for 43 mins +, for the first Caesar salad to arrive. And no utensils after the salad arrived. The server didn't set the table for us. The rest of the food came after, so it was nearly 50 -55 mins wait. We almost finished the bottle of red wine, with empty stomach. It was not that busy, only a couple of other tables around. The Seafood platter was on par, the spaghetti was below par, very home-made Mama style, and tasted like $1 frozen Michelina's spaghetti that we can get from grocery stores. Portion size of the spaghetti maybe 3 x boxes of Michelina's spaghetti to me. Wasn't expect sub par quality spaghetti, especially with that price. The only good dish was the Mushroom Risotto with truffle, and we added additional chicken. But this this came too late, it was almost a 1 hour wait. The last was the set menu dessert. We finished all the food and the server cleared out our table. But been another 10 mins wait, the dessert didn't come. I had ask for the server for the dessert. Poor service, and it actually past their work hours. We were the last table to leave the restaurant. This place resembles a home-made / Mama style Italian restaurant to us. We will not come to this place again, 1 star!!!
Right in Unionville tourist area, a lovely Italian restaurant. Nice decor, owner is an Italian, nice and friendly. Food is tasty, bar service is good. Reasonable price. RecommendedFood: 5/5
We went to celebrate a birthday and because it was Father's Day they had a fixed menu but there were lots of price and food options. The food was tasty. One of the best mojitos we have had in awhile.
My daughter told me this is her favorite restaurant because of their food and service. My wife loves the seafood pasta. Both she and I thinks this restaurant is impressive and authentic Italian cuisine. Highly recommended.
this restaurant made both my husband and I feel like we were in Italy. We had the mussels and calamari to start. The mussels were plate-licking amazing! Calamari was cooked to perfection On to mains, we had the lamb chops and sea bass. Again both tasteful cooked to perfection. The fish was moist and full of flavour. My husband had the lambchops and he was IMPRESSED. Overall the restaurant, service and food was amazing. A gem in unionville. Five stars for it ALL!
I had a bad experience. We waited about 30 minutes for our order. The waiter never came up to find out if everything was fine and if anything else was needed. The dishes that were served to us had neither an attractive appearance nor a pleasant taste. Fresh vegetables in the salad looked like they were cut yesterday or the day before yesterday. The lunch bill was unreasonably expensive and did not match the experience. I am very disappointed in this place, it feels like I was deceived there.
Had the margarita pizza and gnocche. My friend is a vegetarian and we love to share meals. We were in Unionville to explore the area and came across this gem of a restaurant. The service was amazing, and the restaurant has a family/community based atmosphere. Will definitely come back!
Came here with my partner to check out the area and this restaurant was delicious! The food tasted wonderful and we were given such lovely and attentive service. It was not too crowded or loud in this place which allowed us to converse at normal volumes. Apologies for the photo quality--I'm not the best at taking photos! I recommend the mussels marinara and orange roughy!! We'll be back for sure!
