I purchased the Tuxedo cake, which combines vanilla and chocolate flavors, and found it to be enjoyable. The sweetness level was just right for me. The store was spotless and appeared to offer a wide variety of desserts. I plan to try other items in the future. The only downside was the absence of price tags on the products, which made it difficult for me to determine the cost without asking.
I bought slices to try before I ordered a full cake for an event I’m planning. I am only reviewing the slices of cake which were stale. The caramel drizzle on the carrot cake cheesecake was rubbery and the outsides of the cake were a bit crusty and dry, having said that the inside tasted pretty good. I would imagine that the cake would be much better if it were freshly baked. I took the last pieces which was a big mistake because I think that they’ve probably been sitting around for a while. The strawberry shortcake was a bit stale as well but not as bad as the carrot cake which did not get eaten and the shortcake got picked away at over the weekend and I ended up throwing out what was left. The store looks great and has a great selection but I would not order the slices again. I may give the cake a try if it is freshly baked.
I got a box of mixed stuff. Everything was really yummy. Not cheap. But it was worth it. I will be back for a carrot cake order as that was the hit in the mix. Hope I won’t be disappointed once I get an entire cake. Update: carrot cake was heaven. Thank you
Went in to try. Got a donut and a lobster tail pastry. No prices on anything...12 dollars at register. Will not be back. Gave 2 stars. I rated this before tasting. I had a sugar craving...neither product satisfied my craving the lobster tail was awful. I now give 1 star.
Had a Delicious experience yesterday Love their pastries and cakes! Lots of different flavours to select from wide range of varieties available! Good local cake shop to buy!
We order crunchy caramel and texture and flavour was good. Suger level good. A little disappointmented because top was damanged by them during name writing and we realize when we open cake box.
I returned! Yum! I bought a coconut cupcake, a custard and a blueberry tart! I was pleased with all! The berry tart had a real blueberry filling, not some cheap jam. The coconut icing for the cupcake was delightful! Give me a bowl of that with a spoon! The icing and filling were not super sweet. The cake part for the cupcake was a bit dry, but not a lot. I would have preferred a moist one that had a strong coconut flavour. They still have a sample table. Love that! Older Review: Free samples right now! The cake with the Chantilly cream sample was my favourite. See sample table. Food: I purchased an almond cookie, pistachio cookie, an eclair, and a custard. I would purchase the custard again - lovely crispy pastry and nice filling. The eclair was nice. The vanilla cake with Chantilly icing sample I had was lovely. I actually really disliked the pistachio cookie with its unexpected stickiness almost as sticky as gummy bears inside. The almond cookie was a disappointment. Their cookies may be traditional cookies from a particular country, so my taste may not align with theirs. Types of desserts: donuts, custards, whole cakes, cake slices, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, biscotti, tarts, cheesecake slices, bars, etc. Prices: My 4 items came to around $10. Gourmet cupcakes cost $3.50 each. Butter or berry tarts or custards are $2.00 each. The store's appearance inside is definitely impressive; it makes you want to buy everything. Huge selection of desserts - quite shocking compared to most independently owned bakeries. Service: The people working behind the counter were kind and helpful. Wheelchair accessibility: It has a sidewalk in front of the store. See my pics. Other accessibility: There are parking spots right infront of their front door. Hours: They are open every day from 10-7 except Sunday which is 10-6. Washrooms: It didn't have a washroom that was labelled. COVID: They have hand sanitizer at the front door. They also have COVID marking circles all over their floor for spacing.
I have had the privilege of getting some items from this location I am a long time customer I must say JOB WELL DONE!!!The customer service is exceptional I didn'texpect anything less. The quality of the cakes did not disappoint. I trust LaCakery to provide cakes for all the special events in my family. I love the fact that the exceptional example, qualit and service continues.
This place was great! It was nice and clean inside, no loud music or flashy signs, the lights were quite bright but not unmanageably, I had the tuxedo cake and it was amazing, would highly recommend! However, my sister had a croissant and she said it was dry/stale and my friend got the cheesecake and said it lacked the “cheesecake flavour”. so if you are going, maybe consider something other than those!!
They were really hands on with helping us with the design and the flavours of our wedding cake. They never left us to help someone else the entire time and they gave us their honest opinion instead of just placating us based on prices and designs. Cayman was amazing and you should ask for him if you ever want to get a custom cake!
