Lots of options! My favourite part was the water bun sandwich. You can buy cold or hot meals or bakery items Subway-style. The dessert part of the bakery wasn't my favourite. The pecan caramel brownie and the heart pastry were pleasant. The prices were quite affordable! Dining options: No dine-in. Takeout and preorder are available. You order everything Subway-style. Prices: You can order a whole sandwich for takeout for $6. See my pics. Parking: They have a free parking lot with a decent number of spots. Wheelchair: There is wheelchair accessible parking. I didn't see a wheelchair button outside. See my pics.
Hidden gem in Cambridge! Place is usually very busy with lot of take out orders during lunch time. Pricing and Value- 5/5 Cleanliness - 5/5 Friendliness and speed of service - 5/5 Hot food selection- 5/5 Overall experience- 5/5 This is not a fine dining place but if you want to eat lot of food , very very reasonable prices and super delectable- then look no further this is your place.
Azores Bakery A Review by Hassan Hawash “Hey Dad, where did you get these?” “Where are those macaroons?” “Where did you get those little cheesy buns?” “Those buns you got last week absorb really well.” Now those are the kinds of questions and remarks I love to hear from my moody and sometimes hard to please teenage daughter especially with reference, I reflect, to the often quoted “there is nothing in the fridge nothing to eat” that many a parent has most certainly heard a time or two, eh? My success thus far in pulling out some winners from Azores Bakery is going pretty well. The first question above is a reference to my daughter’s very favourable response to the shrimp puffs I brought home the other day. My ten-year-old loves this find at breakfast time or really it can be an anytime snack. The macaroons have got to be amongst the best I’ve ever tasted and were a hit with the kids. My son appreciated having a couple included in his lunch box at school. The second question makes reference to Brazilian-Style Cheese Buns. They are a big hit with my two especially at breakfast time, but again they can be anytime snack, as we like to set them off to school with something hot to warm their bellies. The small golden cheese balls with a light, fluffy centre and a slightly tart/sharp flavour has proven to be a great addition to the rotation of snacks and breakfast menu to offer the kids. I’d say they are ready for the latest yummy success I had the pleasure of snacking on – oven roasted chicken. It really did come as advertised – tender, juicy and full of flavour. Mmmm and that hot sauce made it taste all the better leaving me with a hint of tingly feeling on my lips as a result of just the right amount of a spicy kick. I am so glad I took the young woman behind the counter’s advice to try that amazing sauce taking back to memories of St. Hubert’s chicken in Quebec. The half chicken portion was just the right amount for lunch. As I grazed my eyes over the offerings in the bakery section, I find myself struggling to heed my doctor’s advice to reduce my sugar intake. Hmmmm, maybe just this one time – I’ll take a collection of those macaroons please on the one visit and on another visit, “yeah, I’ll try that Rocky Road Brownie. So yummy!!” I mean after all, I have to think about the children’s lunch box I kid myself. This bakery has me coming back for more again and again and again. So much to discover!!
We bought their buns for the first time today, we are so pleased with the freshness, price and taste!!! We will definitely buy them again!! It is so difficult to find good quality items/ great tasting food these days- I would totally recommend these buns to anyone and everyone!!
I bought two Portuguese soups today, when I got home with them, my daughter began to eat them and told me there was a plastic rubber taste to it. I went back to the store and let them know how it tasted I was shocked how they responded. The lady who usually works behind the food area completely disregarded my complaint even after tasting it and started talking to other costumers and workers about it saying that the soup was fine. I am a regular costumer there, and this is not a good way to treat a costumer. The proper way would have been to apologize, and leave it as that. Her behaviour was ignorant and inappropriate. I don’t appreciate being painted like a liar.
I love their bread. I used the white for my stuffing this Thanksgiving and my daughter said it was the best ever. I also really like their sub buns and the bags of pre-cut stuffing bread!
A hidden gem in Cambridge. This place is usually busy at lunch time, and for good reason. 10 out of 10 would recommend their sandwiches.
Fresh food, great prices. $5.99 sandwiches made on the spot with all fresh ingredients. Hot food and salad bar with Portuguese classics and an entire section of inhouse desserts, brownies, tarts and cakes. Also a grocery store. Friendly staff. I visit 2x a week for past 2 years.
If you love bread then this is the place for you. If you have ever been to the Azores then this is the place to shop. They have a good selection of foods from the Azores.
Excellent items, best prices and very very helpful staff. Will always be back for your wonderful products.
