Came here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! The food was good, and the service was friendly. Prices are very reasonable and the breakfast platters give you plenty of sides. It’s nice to have breakfast options that give you all the meats ham, bacon, and sausage and you don’t have to choose only one of them. The combos also include coffee or tea, which is great. Loved this place and would definitely recommend it. No
I didn't know what to expect, but I was curious about Quebecois food. The restaurant is quite spacious and our waiter was very friendly. I tried their recommended meal that includes meatballs, mashed potatoes, veggies, and much more. The beans at this restaurant are fantastic as they cooked in pork fat. Definitely a great dining experience!
Delicious food! Went for the first time and definitely NOT the last. I plan to bring family here later this month. The staff that I encountered were perfectly bilingual and all super friendly. A great variety on the menu of classic breakfasts and more outgoing, like with blood pudding as pictured. A real gem to visit.
My son, my nephew and I went to this restaurant for breakfast. We chose to sit at a table that seated 4 people rather than bar high counter top. The food was good and we were enjoying our time. I got up to go to the bathroom when an older man customer started poking me in the ribs asking me if i was leaving, i told him no i was going to the washroom. When i came out he followed me to my table and stood there. I was given my bill and told to pay at the front. I was finishing my coffee when the server/owner came back and asked me to leave, i said i was finishing my coffee and he said unless you are ordering something else you need to leave because these people want your table. Needless to say that i do not recommend that you support this restaurant.
We love a good breakfast/brunch and are thrilled to have “discovered” La Biniere Mont-Royal. These folks have been in business for 85 years, and after two visits it’s obvious why. The service is fast and friendly, the food is top notch, and the prices are super reasonable. Many, many reviews mention the in-house made baked beans - and they are as decadently delicious as people say. The beans are cooked to perfection in pork fat and served on the side of a number of breakfast plates. They’re also served as a feature on their own. They are not to be missed. The same goes for their tourtierre listed on the menu as “meat pie”. The meat is perfectly seasoned and the pastry is dense yet flaky as any meat pie crust should be. And we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention their creton. Again, made in-house and a perfect accompaniment to the oven-top cooked bread that accompanies many breakfast options. The French toast is fabulous; their crepes are simple perfection; they cook perfect eggs; and, their sausage, bacon and ham are all local and delicious. Highly, highly recommended.
My favorites baked beans ever worldwide ! Not too sweet, cooked in lard fat, so yummy !!! A family run business that serve affordable and delicious classic Quebec food. First timer, I highly recommend you to try the “Our Traditional Quebec Meal”, you’ll get to try a selection of what Quebec has to offer as well as their fantastic beans ! Feeling hungry ? I’d recommend the poutine my favorites are the pulled pork or the ground beef with five pepper sauce. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with the tourtière or the Shepherds pie, they are both filling and tasty option For the sweet tooth, finish with a warm “chômeur” pudding that become kind of gooey with the cream Don’t forget to come home with a serving or multiple ^^ of theirs renowned baked bean ! PS: In case you didn’t get it already, I really really love their baked beans
We expected this would be a good place, but it was great! The beans deserve all the praise you’ve seen other reviews. Every part of the simple plate of beans, toast, cold pork, and eggs was top-notch. The service was good and the atmosphere bright and pleasant. The food was so good, we bought some of their takeaway dishes to go. Highly recommend.
I came here around 8 am and a few people sitting at the countertop area. Ordered a coffee to start the meal. I heard the Baked Beans was the move so I ordered the Baked Beans with Buttered Toast. I also got a slice of the Touriere which is a meat pie with beef and potatoes. The Toast was super super good. Right amount of crunch but softness as well. The Baked Beans had really flavorful oil but the Beans itself were average when it came to flavor. The Touriere was light but really good! I also wanted to try more Quebec food so I ordered the Chomeur Pudding. This was a great sweet little dessert and the waiter said to try it with a little bit of cream so I did that. This was really good with and without the cream. Overall great breakfast spot and would recommend.
Found this gem while searching for the best traditional Shepherds Pie pâté chinois. The owner Philippe was wonderful! Made me feel like I was having dinner at a friend's. The place was clean, the ingredients in the food were fresh and everything was made from scratch. Great prices and wide variety of traditional Canadian dishes. Highly recommend!
Absolutely a authentic québécois flavor! The resto is so cozy and the food tastes great. In addition, the nice grandpa offers great service. What a great experience! The only pity is that old papa misunderstood me as Japanese, lol
