We had a great lunch at Kuma Yama during our ski day. It's a busy spot so it can sometimes take a little while longer. The black vegetable tam tam ramen was SO good! Very flavourful with tons of vegetables. We also really enjoyed the variety of green teas. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian friendly options. Veggie ramen was delicious
Delicious ramen and sushi. Such a great meal to have in the middle of a ski day! Amazing service too. Seems some people have given low reviews because of speediness, but if you show up before crowds, it’s very reasonable. Or worth the wait if it’s busy!
The Spicy Toro maki roll was delicious!! I wish there was more options on the menu. I had no issues getting a spot despite having no reservations and the service was friendly and efficient.
The food was ok, not great and not bad but it took forever. We asked for a second order of tempura half way through our meal and it took over 45 minutes to get it and the restaurant was almost empty by this time, maybe 5 tables. The whole lunch for a pretty straightforward order took two hours which is unacceptable, especially on a good ski day.
Dang, not sure why this place got so shredded. We thought it was good. Kids veggie ramen, avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll were great. Agedashi was good, but too small for the price. The miso veggie ramen broth was not for us, so we’ll try the veggie tan tan next time. Our waitress was a kind lady from Tokyo. We’ll be back to try more.
I can’t figure out how this place has such low marks? We hit it up when they opened and had the tonkotsu ramen that would rival any ramen in Denver, spicy edamame that was good, and the spicy toro roll which was also great. Pricing was on point too. Better than any food from our CO slopes, which is essentially cafeteria. Definitely check it out.
Sadly, this was probably the worst ramen I've had in my life, the broth was completely bland and flavorless. Best part of the dish was the pork belly
A very surprising sushi place. A very cozy restaurant in the main chalet where this restaurant takes over one side and on the other side is more pub like. The california rolls were made with real crab...a first for a person like me who has had sushi throughout their life in multiple cities. The fish is fresh and tasted fresh. Apparently the fish gets shipped here 3 times weekly from vancouver. Service here is friendly and very quick. Portions are on the smaller side but probably better to not eat so much while skiing. Pricing is average. Would still recommend coming here for something different than typical fries etc.
Was the food food? The answer is yes. It was a nice change to get some decent ramen and a some elk sushi very good on a ski slope. They only issue is the service was exceptionally slow... when your skiing and want to get back out to the slopes this may not be the best pitstop for you! With that said... I applaud the resort for thinking outside the box and bringing a ramen/sushi restaurant to a ski lodge!
After one hour of waiting we had to ask who our server is and even then it took her 15 minutes to finally take our order. It took them 30 minutes to serve two drinks even though the bartender wasn’t even busy. Food was good but they overcharge 3$ for an egg and we had to bring the water bottle to the bar in order to get a refill.
