Small but cozy restaurant with nice interior, good spot for casual conversations over warm ramen. Ramen here is good, would say the broth is more on the salty/flavourful side. Good amount of meat and noodles in each bowl. Personally enjoy the broth, but parents would prefer a lighter broth. Takoyaki is just alright; not a huge fan of their sauce but wasn’t bad overall. The karaage was nice and crunchy, not too oily. Would say that the place is tailored more for small parties since it is such a small space, and seems to only have one front staff on weekdays. Nonetheless, staff is friendly and attentive when needed.
We had the Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karaage to start. It was so juicy inside and crispy outside. The flavours burst in your mouth with the first bite! For the ramen, it can’t go wrong. the broth and meat were so good: aromatic, spicy, and thick. The egg was perfectly done. The pork was very soft and flavourful. The noodles were thin and chewy and portion size was fairly large. Furthermore, the menu includes a few vegetarian options. Happy to recommend this place and I’d definitely visit again!
Ramen was delicious. I had the one veg ramen option, which was the Yasai Shoyu ramen with shiitake mushroom broth. The rest are pork. The rice dishes looked really good, as I saw them at a few tables. Appetizers were fabulous. All in all, great spot for ramen, my only wish is that they offered more to drink. At least a small selection of tea. But water worked!
We decided to try Kuma Ramen out of pure curiosity. Being relitively close to home - we thought why not. What an amazing experience. The food was outstanding and the small dining area was full - for great reason. Presentation of the various options we purchased was excellent and the meals - very flavourful! A+Food: 5/5
Whenever I travel to Newmarket, I like to check on Google for restaurants to try out. I had a craving for ramen, and this place stood out due to the positive reviews. I went on a Sat evening after shopping at a nearby mall. We were readily greeted with a friendly welcome and seated upon arrival. The interior was nice and clean. The spacing between tables was good, especially during these days, a nice comfortable distance from other people. There was a steady flow of business with walk ins and takeout. We ordered pork tonkotsu ramen, spicy tonkotsu miso ramen and a side of karage. The broth for both ramen were very flavourful, the right amount of salt and very pleasing. I liked how the soup was hot and not luke warm compared to other places I've been to. I loved how the porkcharsu tasted, appreciated the char in itwas told by the server the cook uses a blow torch for the added touch, You could tell the meat was fresh. The noodles had a nice chewy texture I look for in ramen. The karaage was also fresh and hot and tender. All I can say, I was impressed with the food. I will definitely be back
Not too rich. Has amazing flavor. Is perfectly portioned so that you are exactly full after drinking the soup. What more can you ask for? The serving tray and the eating ladle being wood is a nice touch and adds to the asthetic. It's a shame its a smaller establishment as even with an early dinner, there were already people lining up. I am definitely coming back here to try their other dishes.
Great little shop for authentic japanese ramen/food, the noodle broth is flavourful and chicken is juicy and tender worth a try. It can get busy during meal time though. They should probably change their old worn out wooden spoons and chipped tray though, frankly a bit gross and looked unhygienic. Other than that should give it a try if u crave for a bowl of tasty ramen.
A small restaurant with good ramen noodles. We came about 2pm on the weekend and have to wait about 15mins for a table. The noodles tasted really good. The fired chicken is much bigger than other restaurants we’ve been to, and tastes very juicy.Recommended dishesSpicy Miso Tonkotsu Ramen, Yasai Shoyu Ramen, Karaage Chicken
Everything about this place was FANTASTIC! Super friendly and attentive staff, very quick service, and DELICIOUS Ramen! Pictured below: - Chicken karaage appetizer - Yasai Shoyu Ramdn Mushroom Ramen - Spicy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen The broth was so incredibly flavourful and the egg and pork were so rich and tasty. I loved the bowl it came in, and the large wooden spoon 5/5 stars - Cannot wait to come back! Vegetarian options: Mushroom Ramen
Dishes were simple, but well executed overall. Tonkotsu broth was not too salty. Excellent! The crispy / deep fried mushroom in the vegetarian ramen is very creative. Pricing: competitive Service: solid Cleanliness: great Addendum: it appears this establishment treats their staff well. They close at 3-4pm for a 'staff lunch break' and it appears they're fed lunch too. Brownie points!
