The epic milkshake photos on Yelp drew me to this spot, located in the MGM plaza. I was surprised to learn that it's a combo of a candle shop, home decor shop, and alcohol milkshake/chocolate shop. While this could have been pulled off, it comes off as too kitschy... AND all of the candle scents in the shop actually ruin the milkshake drinking experience. When your nose is filled with artificial scents of maple, magnolia, and citrus, it's hard to enjoy the scents and taste of marshmallows and chocolate. Nevertheless, the milkshake wasn't bad. I chose the non-alcoholic version of S'more or Nothings. It had a nice malty milkshake taste and cake with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a graham cracker, and two roasted marshmallows. Overall, it feels like Kringle is trying to do too much. Beyond candles, they also had a big display of olive oils, a counter of chocolates, another counter of baked goods, a number of home decor pieces including a pair of mass-produced lamps priced at $299.99 each. If you're visiting the casino and staying only within the casino, it's worth venturing outside into the plaza to check out. But if you're in Springfield, just get a $5 Frappuccino at a Starbucks instead of this $12 milkshake--$14 with alcohol, because you'll be pretty much getting the same experience, but without all of the competing sights and smells of the Kringle shop!
I enjoyed the veggie panini and the chocolate chocolate chip muffin that was slightly heated by one of the staff members. But what I didn't like was that after my order was taken, I was walking around and the girl at the front counter who took my order, started looking at and scrolling through her phone. She was the only one who was attached to her phone. I almost asked her " is your phone part of your job here?" These young kids in her 20's have no clue and soon they'll be making $15 an hour. If your job bores you then find another one. But act professional with the one you have. I hope management reads this because cell phones are WAY out of control at jobs.
If you ever find yourself in Springfield MA, right next to MGM is this fabulous magical place called Kringles. When you step inside the smell and atmosphere are happiness and all good things. Candles, chocolates, vats of olive oils, amazing lattes, pastries, and, most importantly, the best alcoholic and non-alcoholic milkshakes you're tastebuds have ever had. Not to mention the candy man behind the counter making the concoctions is delightful.
Everytime I walk into the Kringle Emporium at MGM I am greeted by some of the most pleasant and respectful employees I have ever come across in my 3 years of retail service. Even with backed up lines they work very hard to make sure you are always satisfied with what you order to the fullest extent! Some other reviews haven't been accurate towards the Kringle and I would reccomend going in for yourself to enjoy the environment and all they have to offer!
This company does not pay.....I was an employee there I was told when hired that we get paid on Monday. Monday came no check, because of that I resigned at 9:30 am Monday...I was told I would receive my check on Wednesday. Wednesday comes no check, then I was told I was mis- informed I would get my check on Friday. Friday comes no check. I spoke with alot of people today including the manager of security I never threatened anyone or got ignorant just wanted my check....all day the lady stephanie would not answer her phone. I walked a total of 7 miles today in freezing temperatures to pick up my check like stephanie said I could. And no check...me, my husband, and had a horrible Thanksgiving because I had no money to buy food, I cried all the way home, walked back in freezing temperatures 7 miles with nothing. I received a text finally from stephanie and this is what she said...." first and foremost I apologize for not being able to respond to you I have been out of town and my reception is not very good where I am, secondly I have also spoken to Chelsea whom you verbally assaulted earlier today and I strongly advise against you returning to MGm or Kringle Emporium as their is a guard out front and the police have been notified! Now as far as your check it was apparently out in the mail on Wednesday because you are no longer an employee that is standard protocol, now I do apologize for the mis communications and so you know Matt is no longer with us and I understand you had talked with him this week as well. As I stated above the check is in the mail and you should get it today or tomorrow the latest! We are in no way holding your monies I assure you! And we are in every legal right to have mailed your check and unfortunately the 72 hour rule does not apply when you voluntarily resign it is only if you are let go or terminated. Thank you for your understanding and patience and please refrain from going back to the Emporium or contacting me further with your threats." I made no threats, did not verbally assault anyone.
We went and for some reason our debit and credit card was declined. We went to our bank and confirmed we have plenty left and even called them. Time to get a new machine. To bad because the place was nice.
It's great! Never a bad experience here. They have one girl as soon as she seems me she is getting my drink ready! Its great!
Very nice store with a good selection and the young lady at the register was very pleasant. Also, the store was so neat and clean I think you could actually eat off the floor as the saying goes!
Was able to return a purchase from the flagship store seamlessly. Great customer service experience.
I had a chocolate adult milkshake from the Kringle Emporium. It was delicious.
