My family keeps coming back to this restaurant, the food is amazing. My wife loves the Kimchi soup and I am a huge fan of the pork bone soup which tastes incredible. I posted a picture of both soups for reference. The restaurant gets very busy later in the day to the point where one has to order ahead or get turned away. Best to come early, for example around 1:00pm. They have a sign that says you can only stay a maximum of 1.5 hours. If you like authentic Korean food then I think this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit, I am sure that I will be back often!
In short; good and authentic tasting Korean dishes, fast staff, fair prices. I recommend to give this little Korean restaurant a try! This restaurant offers a la carte dishes, but also all-you-can-eat for 1.5 hours diy Korean BBQ. My party opted for a la carte, as we just wanted to have a quick and small dinner. We succeeded in the quick part, as we we done in under an hour, but failed in the small dinner part; the veggie Korean pancake with 2 complentary fried dumplings was quite big and the entree consiting of short rib bibimbap and yook gaejang with steamed rice and complimentary bancha, as well. If you have a big appetite, the diy BBQ is great value, even more so during lunch hours as it's about CAD 10 less expensive.
The food was amazing! Only downside was the space is very cramped and hard to move through, and the door let's in the coldest breeze when opened. Unavoidable in most places in Chinatown. I suggest asking for extra napkins lol you'll need themFood: 5/5
Yum! Ordered for takeout and wasn't expecting to get kimchi, rice and sauce with it. They even threw in a couple mandu that I did not order! The food was so delicious! I loved all of the seafood in the Haemool-pajeon seafood pancake and the portions were huge! It was my first time trying Kimchi Ji-Gae and I also found it delicious. There were just some pretty large pork chunks so maybe breaking it up would make it easier to eat. The order came well packaged and I was very satisfied with my meal! Leftovers will definitely last me a few days :
Not the best experience second time around. Long wait to be greated, didnt come around often enough, server was on his phone for half the night, gave us a 10% discount because they dropped shrimp beside us, I think, but it just brought our bill back to the actual price with tax... not the worst, certainly not the best.
This place is awesome. The quality and quantity was at its best. I had seafood soup, hot pot - Original Bibimbap, KkanPoongGi and both these comes with rice. And one dish among this came with some different soup so better ask before ordering a separate soup. The seafood soup was around 15 buck but you should know that it comes in a big pot and serves more than 2 people. The soup had calmari, prawns, mussels and soft tofu in it. The KkanPoongGi chicken was good too. The place has limited seats so would be ideal to reserve seats if going in peak hours. The staffs were really nice. They don’t have separate parking but the cars can be parked in the paid street parking. I saw every other customer trying the barbecue here. I would really try that next time.
The beef bibimbap was absolutely delicious and I’d order it again on my next visit. Our meals also came with miso soup and pancakes, which was a pleasant surprise! Will gladly recommend Korean House to my friends & family
It's a nice quaint little place to stop for some great food. The door way is a little narrow so just something to be mindful of if you're coming in with a group! The little starter dishes come out quick and the food was delicious, got Kalbi and Samgyopsal table bbq. A lot of the staff are actually Vietnamese but the food was amazing regardless. Whenever we needed anything they were quick to supply. Went just between lunch and dinner so we were able to squeeze in without a reservation and had a great time. Will definitely be returning. The veggie pancakes you get after being seated are an absolute favourite.
Yum yum yum! We had the all you can eat Korean BBQ dinner. One round was all we could manage, with ribs, pork, chicken, beef, squid and shrimp. It includes a bowl of bibimbap, Manchu, pancakes and more. The kimchi was very good as were the other side dishes. I am looking forward to return and some a la carte dishes.
All you can eat BBQ is plentiful. Beef ribs were seasoned very well. Service was good. Just a bit expensive.Food: 4/5
