Disappointed, nothing was mentioned about the pool being under construction, hot tub and restaurant closed. We had to purchase a $20 fob key to use the washroom and to return to the camp site whenever leaving. The camp sites are so close to each other, no real privacy.
This is a lovely campground that has earned the right to call itself a ‘resort’. Currently some amenities are not available or are a little changed in their approach due to COVID restrictions but that’s something we encounter everywhere. Some of the things we particularly enjoy are the Swimming Pool lots of lounge chairs around the poolside kayak &paddleboat rental, the bouncy water play area on the lake, fresh produce stall on saturdays, campfires, sports activities for the kids, sundaes at the Kittawa store/restaurant and just walking the huge campground and lakeside chatting to friendly campers. I don’t know what to make if some of the other negative reviews as that hadn’t been my experience at all: Christy the manager has been extremely responsive, friendly and helpful, the water is fine we used a Brita filter because it’s well water so doesn’t give that ‘city water ‘ taste we are used to We had no problems with septic, parking, cleanliness or anything andrealourselvesenjoourselves….
We booked this place for their inflatables on the lake. We were never notified that their lake was no longer swimmable and the inflatables for the lake obviously wasn’t open due to the lake. I emailed the manager about my concerns and was told she would refund me 25% of my stay. I have yet to see that refund come back to me. When I emailed her she told me it was already refunded however the money that was refunded was the $41.25 I gave as a deposit to get gate pass and shower keys. I guess simple math is beyond them as 25% of my stay would be $31.78. Don’t stay here they are not true to their word and their website is not update with what is working and what is not. They also have filled in a huge portion of their pool and you get asked to leave the pool after 1 hour of swimming because of capacity issues.
First weekend in June. Being a resort campground you expect to get what you pay for. We booked our camping 3 lots side by side back in January. We get here, we can no longer have the 3 lots side by side someone has to move. Yet the 2 lots that seperated us remained empty. They have a pool. We were not notified that the pool has been dug up and will not be ready for some time. We are relaxing Friday evening and everyone is cutting grass. Yet the transient lots were never done. We decide to go for the walk to buy fire wood as you cant bring any in. They have no fire wood. So no fires for the weekend. Yet we did not get a discount for not providing the advertised services. We have a few more camping booked with them and want to cancel so we can go somewhere else yet they want to charge $25 admin fee. My recommendation is stay away.
Lots are too small, no nature paths, no lake, dirty in the bathrooms and overall. But it's very close to the Calipso waterpark and is not too much expensive. On site they have a pool, two hot tubs, a playground for the kids plus a restaurant.
We did enjoy this park. We liked the water structure a lot, I’m not sure who enjoyed it more the us or the kids and we also used the kayaks and enjoyed a little trip around the island as a family. We met really nice people here. Unfortunately the dust was terrible and the young staff members were not friendly. We would have loved to come back but the chalky tasting dust was a deal breaker.
Having gone here after very mixed reviews, I've got to say I enjoyed myself! It is a relatively quiet campground with very friendly people, very similar to a small village. There are a lot of fun activities, but we didn't participate in any. Great lake views, however, the water looks disgusting. We brought floats, but couldn't bring ourselves to get in. The bathrooms are clean, however, relatively far from the camping area! The owners are french as are alot of people at the campground, but they could communicate in English. Fire pit is great. They have a restaurant, corner store with ice and firewood, community hall, pool and small movie theater. Overall, really enjoyed my stay!
Horrible!i went with my sister around 4 months ago didnt think to make a complaint, anyways the park over there has a horrible station where kids could do dangerously suicidal things with a rope hanging down a tree, not sure if still there but if anyone could take it down that would be great.Cabins had barely any space u could hit ur head on the wood while getting up especially on the 3rd bunk and WAYYYY to expensive!! lower down the price was almost 200$ for a night!
Worst camping experience ever. DO NOT COME HERE. The owner and all the staff are VERY rude, I got there to meet the rest of my family and had to pay extra for extra people, as they walk around and count heads and tents per site. Had to go pay $133 on top of the $133 we already paid just to have another tent sent up beside my family on the SAME SITE. Spoke with the owner about this and he proceeded to yell and me and my spouse, about how they are a "Profit Organization" and not a "Non-Profit" to reason for their pricing, which made me not want to give them my money because clearly all they care about is how much money they make off me. Every person from my group that had a interaction with the owners left very displeased at how rude and inflexible they are. NOTE: There are only two areas for camp sites, the entire place is a trailer park. The only spot for tents with electricity and water is right beside the highway and the parking lot, which makes it very loud, the other camping site Is far from everything and there is no water or electricity so not many options for 'camping'. There are two places for swimming, the man made lake is more like a pond.... it is also filthy, see photo, there was no one swimming because of how dirty it is. The only other place to swim was the swimming pool, usually crowded and not that big, so not many options... There are trailers EVERYWHERE so you already know that is where they make their money. These people do not deserve the money they make at all, will never be coming back here. I suggest you do the same so you never experience what my family did.
Do not book here. Not only did we have problems with the booking that we made 6months in advance but once we were there we found out that the lake and beach are closed the main reason why we booked there and there was nothing on their site saying that nor did they inform us of that when they called a few days before.
