After hours of driving up and down the shores of lake superior, we finally stumbled upon this campground with a site open! At first we were happy just to be at a campground rather than sleeping in the car in a parking lot, but it ended up being the best campsite we've ever had. Each outer site is lakeview with a mini private beach and crystal clear water. Plenty of space between sites for privacy and large sites.

Kingston Lake State Forest Campground is exactly what I think of when I think "campground." Extremely natural, woods, lake, trails nearby, private, serenity!

An amazing place to camp. We actually preferred this location over most for the quiet atmosphere this campground provided over more popular locations. The small lake is fun to explore by canoe or kayak we were able to see a bunch of turtles sunning the day we went out. The campground system can be confusing to first timers. Make sure you arrive early in case you need to find another open sight. It's essentially first come first serve on scouts honor. You pay by the big information kiosks there is no staff to register you. On last thing ice is found going into town on both sides so make sure you stock up as much as possible!

Was great except for people, who were not even staying there, came to get water way too early in the morning and woke everyone up. P.s. Don't take a generator.

Wonderful little campground on a little peninsula. Sure it's not on Lake Superior but this is a great alternative if other NP campgrounds are full.
