"In 1992 our Rei dos Leitões first opened its doors in London Ontario. The Vieira family bought the restaurant in 2001 introducing it outside the Portuguese community, who then coined us as King of the Pigs. Soon the restaurant became well known in the city for its unique charcoal-infused chicken and their very own signature sauces. Our version of Piri Piri sauce became a must-have with any order. The main style of our cuisine is churrasqueira, meaning an open flame BBQ. Today we use hard wood charcoal as the only source of fuel for cooking chickens, giving it our unique flavours."

First time here at King of Pigs restaurant in East London on Hamilton-Road. I went with a friend who had been there before many times and came highly recommended. Friendly crowd and busy for a Wednesday. Our waitress recommended steak, but my guest strongly recommended octopus. I went to with the octopus. It was excellent and tender, not to big. I would have it again but would forgo boiled vegetables for salad and fries.
We were very excited to come here and eat after reading all the reviews. We ordered the 1/2 chicken and pork cutlets and both were very dry. It seemed that the food had been sitting for a while and lost a lot of moisture. The pulled pork sandwich though was delicious and so were the sauces. I was looking forward to trying some toast piglet but they don’t serve them on weekdays. Too bad.
Food was good and it was pretty full for a Thursday at lunch. Our server was very kind but worked all the tables by herself. I would suggest more staff. I would recommend the pull pork sandwich. It was delicious!
As my first time going to this establishment, I was blown away with the food and the service, large portions, amazing service, one of our party speaks only Portuguese, they were more than happy to communicate with her in Portuguese. Their house made hot sauce's were delicious, I can't say enough amazing things about this place!!Food: 5/5
Since I moved to London 5 years ago, I can count on Rei dos Leitões to consistently deliver delicious, quality food every single time. Tonight we ordered Dinner for 2 Meal C. What we liked: Everything There really isn’t much we don’t like about this restaurant. We would probably eat here more if we didn’t like to cook at home so much. If you don’t believe how good the food is, just check out the pictures below and the photo will help you find the restaurant. Just go now & pickup a bottle of the hot sauce. I spent around $50 on flavourless ribs and salty chicken. The food is so bland that I don’t have much to say other than don’t waste your money here. Consider using other seasonings on your food, not just a whole bunch of salt. 75% of my container was filled with fries and I only received two small pieces of chicken and a slab of ribs.
The staff is very courteous and professional, the food was delicious, generous in potion sizes and steaming hot! Highly recommend the grilled octopus!Food: 5/5
We had our staff Christmas party with their food and it was a hit. Delicious, good variety and lots of food. Very generous portions and excellent value for the price. Would highly recommend.

It was our first time at this restaurant, and unfortunately, we will not be coming back. We ordered chicken, ribs, and a chicken salad. The chicken drumstick and thigh had a nice flavour, but it was overcooked and dry. The sauce on the ribs had a nice flavour, but the meat had an odd taste as though were unfresh; they were also tough and definitely not fall-off-the-bone tender. The shredded chicken on the chicken salad was also dry and tough. Everything was merely average.
