King of Donair

Donair in Ontario is much different from Donair in BC. Here in BC, the sauce is always sweet mayo like, while in Ontario is more to garlic sauce. When we learned King of Donair was opening in GP, AB, for sure we had to had a road trip to check it out. Yum! Similar to Ontario donairs. Totally worth the drive. Place is spacious and decorated nicely. Service was fast and friendly. Their bite size garlic bread was good too, which my youngest totally in love with. That is the only thing he would order when we go here Please open a branch in FSJ, BC!

I've tried this place 3 times. First two times the Donair wasn't very good. It was dry and had no flavour. 3rd time here and the Donair was juicier and had more flavour but had a lot of orange grease in it. It was wrapped in tinfoil which cause it to collect the making the end of it very soggy. I ordered fries for my 2 year old. They were $4 and there was barely any Fry's. It looked like a side of Fry's not an order of Fry's. I won't be going back again.

I thought this place was awesome when it first opened…. Now not so much. Ordered it tonight and everything has gone downhill. First, the donair is just rolled up in tin foill and sits in grease making it very soggy. Second, the meat is hard and dry and flavourless, garlic poppers are very doughy lately and the donair sauce is runny. This place is very disappointing and I don’t think I’ll be back. You can get a better donair almost anywhere else

I order king of Donair in Halifax, being from there, every time I am home. I order KOD in Calgary and whenever and I order it when I visit Grand Prairie. Needless to say, I am in Grand Prairie. Unfortunately the food took over an hour to be delivered on a Sunday night, and the food arrived cold . I will not be buying from King of Donairs in Grand Prairie anymore. They have sullied the KOD name in my book.

My King of Donair is ruined as a favourite GP Spot. Went in today and Was met with very surly, smarmy guy that pointedly ignored me at first except for a scowl, for coming in at all I guess then another scowl and complaints about how very busy he was By his disturbing attitude I was very much afraid he might do something gross to the food. Had intended to order my usual medium Alberta and Medium Original. Decided it was best to give up and leave empty handed. Very disappointing

Taste was awesome, Size n quantity was good But the way they wrapped meat in the pita bread was not in the authentic way of donair wrapping. Staff was very busy among them self talking n chit chatting with each other.

Listen to the other poor reviews. I took my chance because it was the closest. They rolled it like a cone sushi? Messy as f. Was cold, cheese not melted. And wrapped in, hard to open tinfoil? No bag? Leaks everywhere. Meat was ok. Sauce was meh.

An authentic east coast donair. So good. The location has ample seating, is clean, and the staff are friendly. Note to anyone unsure about what size to order: I got a large and could’ve gotten away with a medium.

Place is clean, flavors were good. Lots if meat in donair. Overall good place to go for a quick donair.

Real good food for decent price! Friendly staff and quick service. I had a Large original donair; I’d get a smaller one next time, the servings are very generous in size..
