One of my favorite things when I visit northern Michigan, especially the Upper Peninsula is to stop and have a pastie. Most are not aware but you can also get a great pastie right here in Grand Blanc at King Arthur's. I prefer the King Beef with Gravy but they have a few different options to choose from. If your having a lazy night you can take it home hot and ready to eat and they will even throw in a paper plate with plastic silverware making the cleanup a breeze. The also have a bakery if you need cookies who doesn't, pies, cakes or breads. Stop in for a quick and delicious meal.
I have been going to this Bakery since I was 5 years old, it was my mom and I’s special thing to do together. I love this place with my whole heart. I still drive from Lapeer to come get larger orders of pasties and pies to take back home with me. There is no other place I have found that makes pasties like this. Everything they make is delicious but the pasties are the main event!
I will say I've been coming here for 30+ years for the the pasties, cookies , birthday cakes , Ect, before that if you want to put my mother coming when you were off of Davison rd . Your frosting covered sugar cookies , were always a 12in my book but, this is a third time tryout and I wouldn't rate them a if I could, absolutely terrible . Even my French Bulldogs who eat everything shrugged there noses after they tried a bite of your dried out sugar coated card board , and for the prices you should be ashamed that you even put out a product that my dogs wouldn't even eat. Absolutely disgusting too say the least I will not be back , reduce your prices, and go back to your original recipes and maybe then, you'll be better off!
My first time here. My mother wanted an apple pie for her 80th birthday. I stopped in not even knowing if they had one. The person that worked there was so nice. I got an apple pie and all I can say is my mother flipped over it! It was so good. She said it was the best pie she has ever had and wants me to get one for Easter! My mother is hard to please sometimes and so for her to rave about this pie....wow! I will be back soon!
Got pasties that was doughy. We called them and they said they would make it up . They forgot to put our names down, so we didn't credit for them. We bought 3 more and the crust tasted like cardboard and really dry inside.
First time there. New Local favorite! Sweet old ladies making amazing pies cakes pasties etc. The smells are fantastic. Prices very reasonable. They make literally every flavor of pie you can imagine. We bought a banana cream and coconut cream pie for grandmas 80th party and they were the hit of the party! Don’t forget to try a hot fresh Pastie while there. Everything is made homemade and is fresh daily all day. You will not be disappointed.
Won’t be back and I have ordered from them several times! Went in over a week ago bought some cookies and placed an order for Christmas sugar cookies was told I could pick up Christmas Eve at noon arrived to be told they have no order for me. Gave the excuse the person that took the order was new but she’s been there several months. When I was there a couple weeks ago the employees where arguing while about ten customers were in the store. Poor service and this place has went down hill. Told we won’t be back they said “OK!” Didn’t offer anything at all to help make it right!
Ordered birthday cake on Friday morning for a Monday pickup. Get there to pickup and cake hasn’t even had writing put on it yet, which I guess wasn’t a huge deal just thought it would be ready. An employee comes out of the back and says, “is cream cheese frosting okay?” I reply, “it was buttercream frosting.” She replies while slightly snickering, “I know it was but we don’t have it, your order was missed.” I then just chose to leave. My wife specifically requested that cake for her birthday and King Arthur ruined it. Thanks, won’t ever order from here again!!! Unbelievably rude and ridiculous. Save yourself a hassle and head up the street to Oliver Ts!
I would give 0 stars if I could! Horrible place! They treat their staff like dogs! And the food is mediocre! Go anywhere else and you will have better food and not buy for a company that doesn't care!
When you have a craving for something savory you have to try their beef pasties with gravy. They are super filling and delicious.
