Find this little cart just to the left of Han Nam Supermarket under the concrete stairs. Amazing taiyaki that are so fresh hot and delicious! I tried the custard and the veggie and they were both awesome. 4 taiyaki for $5 - such a deal! Service was super nice and let me know it was a 7 min wait for them to be made. Warmed the leftovers in the oven and they were just as good that evening.
Han Nam super left side coner store. Very good parking place. Traditional Korean Waffles & Pancakes prices were also good. You can enjoy the best taste if you eat it within an hour of purchase. Hype is real! Has not been affected by inflation. Simple menu that screams big flavour. We ordered their red bean and custard waffles along with their cinnamon pancakes. Paid $20!Food: 5/5
Got red bean and custard filled taiyaki, and a brown sugar pancake Red bean was flavourful, loved how it wasn’t too sweet and wasn’t a paste it actually had whole pieces of red beans in it. Custard could’ve used a little more sweetness, had a slight saltiness that I wasn’t used to for a custard .. Brown sugar pancake was my favorite! Deliciously warm and chewy, the brown sugar had a very rich and intense flavour almost like molasses !
Very tasty Korean street food ~ I came all the way from Richmond for this and no regrets. My boyfriend was questioning when I asked him to bring me here, but when he tried it, he was amazed. Strongly recommended to try it when it’s still warm. If you bring it back home, use air fryer to heat it up.
Before you go, know that this isn't a store but a food cart under the stairs in the middle of the plaza. And there's going to be a line up, which means you should order first then go grocery shopping as it's usually a 25-30 min wait if you see a line. You probably already know this is the place to hit up as it's very popular. Taiyaki is 5 for $5 such a good deal!! 3 filling options: red bean, custard, veggies. My favorite are custard and veggies The pastry is spongy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Pancakes are 5 for $10. Also a great deal. They're chewy and very tasty! There's also less of a wait for them. 2 flavors: cinnamon and sugar Or veggies. Both are amazing!! I ordered way too much, so the next day I heated the pancakes up in my omelette pan no oil necessary and the taiyaki in my toaster oven. Both were delicious still. Which means I can go back and get tons next time!
Cute stall with yummy fish shaped waffles and pancakes. The pancakes are not crunchy so if you want something more crunchy go for the fish waffles. The Veggie flavor quite good as well!
You are lucky if you see their cart because they don’t open year round. I got a sweet pancake and a vegetable pancake. They are freshly made so super hot, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I like the sweet one more.Recommended dishesKorean Sweet Pancakes
I've been waiting to visit this truck after visiting a couple years back. We ordered the sweet sugar cinnamon hotteok and 5 of the taiyakis with red bean. The red bean taiyakis weren't very crunchy but the red bean inside was perfectly sweetened. The hotteok was really delicious. It was very chewy and cinnamony. The melted sugar inside was like hot lava inside but I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend the hotteoks! If you are looking to visit, you better visit before they close for the summer and get a hotteok. The staff are also really friendly and the pricing is cheap!
Wonderful family-run cart located in the parking lot just under the overhang. Been around 20 years. Not complicated. They offer fish waffles with three flavours, and Korean pancakes with two. They keep it simple, don't skimp on the filing, and make everything fresh and on demand. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly. Great, warm treat for the fall and winter!
