We were married at the “old” Kilmorey Lodge back in 2004. When we saw that they were reopening, we had to come back! I’m so stoked for what they’ve done! To build it brand new, but retain the lodge feeling of the old building is incredible! The vaulted ceilings in the room, the comfortable beds, and the balcony looking out on the lake and the Prince of Wales Hotel made our weekend! The service and food at the restaurant were amazing. Totally top notch stay! For only being open for a couple of months, we were totally impressed!! Can’t wait to come back!
Beyond beautiful. We had an incredible stay at Kilmorey Lodge. Service was excellent, the room was cozy, and the view was gorgeous. It was the extra little touches that made it extra special for us - including the tea and cookies in the room when we arrived - what a cute treat! We had dinner at the attached restaurant and were not disappointed. The food was amazing and blew us away with portion sizes! The saskatoon berry pie was to die for as well. We will be back! Thank you for a lovely weekend refresher!
Had dinner at the Kilmorey Restaurant tonight. Despite being open only a week the food and service were excellent. We had a little problem with seating to start the meal. We had a reservation and were assigned a small table for two on the patio while numerous 4 tops were available though not cleaned lakeside. We waited for a lakeside table and we’re seated but almost immediately a 4 top who were obviously going to be loud was seated right next to us. We opted to move inside to a quieter location but after that point the meal was fantastic and quiet. We had the lasagna avec legumes and the salmon Athena. Both were freshly prepared and delicious. The lasagna was served with a generous tossed salad and garlic bread . The salmon was delicious BC salmon. The prices were very reasonable for a high quality meal in Waterton high season. Definitely worth trying in Waterton !
We originally reserved this hotel but they emailed me that they were sold out so instead they gave us the the Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort. When we arrived we had to check in at the Kilmorey. At the reception there was the owner standing and heard about our change. So he came and said he was going to try to get us a room at the Kilmorey. He did and we got a beautiful room. The rooms have vaulted ceilings and a nice view. We were very pleased with the service. Rooms: They are beautiful with vaulted ceilings. The cookies and tea set at the edge of the bed look awesome. The cookies are delicious.
For the restaurant: the staff were friendly and the food was good, but will never return. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated between 1:30-1:40pm. We did not receive our food until 3:15pm …. over an hour and a half for food is unbelievable there was no warning at the door either, only around 2pm did they start telling people it would be a long wait. Was assured that dessert would come quick if we ordered, so we did and it still took almost 30 minutes for desserts to come. After spending 3 hours in the restaurant, we were not even offered any sort of discount or anything on the bill although a few other tables did. Just got a “sorry for the wait” and sent on our way. Not at worth the stress and anxiety. Will never come back unless the food was free.
We had looked forward to our stay to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, I got sick and was unable to travel. I called the hotel a day prior to our reservation to explain and to ensure we would not be charged. The cancellation was accepted without a word being said about not returning our deposit. A 72 hour cancellation policy?? How does one know 72 hours ahead that one is too ill to travel? Very disappointing. Very inflexible. An expensive mistake we won’t be repeating. It makes me sad. We had always enjoyed our stays at the old Kilmorey, but I guess we won’t have the chance to compare the two.
Everything was so good here, the service, dining, and housekeeping were all very very good. The rooms are so nice, this is the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. And there is a bedside shelf for each side of each bed! The beds and comforters are so comfortable and soft. The dining room is really nice, clean, friendly service. The food was really good.
Great place to stay. Beautiful location. Helpful staff. Katie at the concierge gave us great ideas for things to do esp in winter when it's tricky to get around. Even our server I can't remember her name at the hotel restaurant was very kind and gave us directions to get to places. These extra efforts to help the guests go a long way to make their stay comfortable and memorable.
Kilmorey Pub was the last place open in town for dinner on September 30 and we had a great dinner in the pub. The small staff was fantastic with a full house of diners. This is a great place with a great location. Really made our rainy evening at Waterton Nartional Park a pleasure. Thanks everyone!Service: 5/5
The hotel, the location, the room - all was absolutely fantastic and very well worth coming back. The food in the restaurant at night was also really good. However, the breakfast in the morning was not even a joke. I have ordered the "signature dish" Eggs Benedikt and it was honestly the worst I have eaten. A hard boiled egg, instead of medium runny barely warm, on top of a hard and rubber-like piece of ham and a hard piece of English muffin. The Sauce Hollandaise, a thick and awful tasting mass. The hush browns were also more cold than warm. All in all it was not a good breakfast experience and did not fit in to the really high standard of the hotel.
