Came here after a family friend recommendation to have our Cleo neutered. The appointment was one week lead time. This other place in Burnaby has a wait time of 6-8 months wait and they forget you’re on the list. Anyway Killarney Animal Hospital has a very courteous, polite and helpful staff. We were explained in detail pre and post operation. Will definitely switch to them for all our veterinary needs in the future. Cleo says thanks!!!!
Reception is always welcoming and they'll always try to accommodate you in the best way possible. I've had a couple emergencies with my pups and they did not hesitate to see my pups immediately. On top of that I have received follow up calls to check up on my pups after each emergency which in my experience don't happen elsewhere. Great staff.
THIS DOCTOR MAKES ME SICK !!! I ONLY SEE MONEY SIGN POPPING OUT OF HIS EYES ! If you love your pets take them somewhere else . We live nearby Killarney area that’s why we bring our pets here, my dog is 13 years old . And we’re starting to see more health issues, So we bring him in this clinic often. this clinic doesn’t actually care for your pets , they want your money . They will find every excuse and reasons for you to pay for more. doctors At this clinic doesn’t speak English well. So communications are very hard. He would say something that make no sense . My dog had bronchitis last month, they suggest us to take x-rays for our dog to see if there is anything wrong , and doctor said there’s inflammation in his lungs, we bought medication and treated him right the way . I came back with my dog this week to get his vaccine shot . And I asked the doctor if the dog cough once a while it’s normal. He says of course that’s normal. Then later he said he’s coughing also could be other reasons I should send his x-ray and New blood work to a “ specialist” to get checked again and coughing for a dog is not normal. He seems very unsure what his taking about . Then he said your dog is coughing probably because the fat lumps on his back…… as we pet owners we need reliable doctors that can help treat our pets when they need help. Not someone that wants your money. The doctor seemed very irritated when I refuse to send my pets X-ray to a “ specialist”. I payed about 700 dollars for my dogs last visit. Now he makes me feel like he didn’t know what his doing , so we need to find a specialist. I don’t recommend this clinic for anyone,
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! They do not care about the wellbeing of your pet's here! They will play off of your emotions and give you false hope instead of being honest and forthcoming about the health/condition of your animal, just so they can continue to make money while your pet suffers. Had to say goodbye to my beloved companion due to their malpractice and negligence. B, I'm sorry I failed you and put my trust in the wrong people. Rest In Paradise, my sweet boy.
Great vet clinic. Supportive vet technicians and knowledgeable veterinarian who have taken great care of my dogs. Based on my own experience, I would highly recommend coming here!
This is a vet clinic to be avoided. Staff is rude, disrespectful, and not helpful. They are interested in your money. When you are agonizing over the decision to let your suffering pet go, you can count on this vet and it’s staff to make one of life’s tough moments even tougher, and can count on them to prolong the suffering.
My foster cat, Ebony, won't let me hold or carry her, so I was worried they'd have to sedate her for an exam. The vet was gentle but thorough, and Ebony let him check everything out-- including her teeth--no sedation needed. I couldn't believe it! The staff were friendly and professional, and we were able to get an initial appointment within a week, with the follow-up surgery just a few days later. Ebony's dental cleaning was problem free and very fairly priced. I also noticed that the prescription dog and cat food were lower priced than three vet offices I'd seen in Richmond. I'll definitely be returning! Thanks for taking such good care of my old kitty.
Not happy with the level of professionalism at this animal hospital. Our dog is extremely sick with a really bad cough, so I called in asking the vet if the coughing was normal. The receptionist put me on hold to call the vet who was helping us the day before, and he prescribed some cough syrup and said it would be ready for pickup by the afternoon. My boyfriend and I went to pick up cough syrup before they closed, and the receptionist said they had nothing on file to be picked up. We live far from this animal hospital, and drove all the way to pick up medicine and left empty handed. The receptionist's response was, "there's nothing for you guys to pick up. We're closing soon so you can come back tomorrow." We didn't even get an apology or an answer as to why this was somehow missed or forgotten. Now our puppy has to suffer another rough and uncomfortable night. Thank god his condition is not life or death - if your pet is suffering, DO NOT rely on this clinic to fulfill prescription and medication needs! They will simply forget.
Took my little girl here for a spay and I was honestly hesitant at first with the reviews seemingly all over the place. However, I’m glad I did, as the ladies behind the counter were courteous and friendly and my pupper was well taken care of. It was also priced competitively amongst the other animal hospitals in the area.
Something is not right with how this clinic handles animals.. This was my cat's first clinic and he absolutely hated going. He started become really aggressive at the clinic and was muzzled for check ups. One time the nurse was unable to carry him out of the back and I had to do it myself. Another time he came home with a broken nail that was obviously trimmed too short without my permission. Front desk was also incredibly rude. I switched to another vet due to location but my boy was excellent. He was super gentle with checkups and the staff all praised him for being a good boy.
