Kilby Historic Site

About

Step back in time with to our 1906 General Store museum; visit the friendly farm animals; browse the unique gift shop and stay for lunch at our quaint cafe

Story

Museum, Farm, Cafe and Gift Shop re-open Nov 18 & 19 for Eagle Fest and Dec 9 & 10 for Christmas!

Located near the junction of the Harrison and Fraser Rivers, the Kilby Historic Site stands as the only reminder of the once thriving community of Harrison Mills.

Step back in time and enjoy a leisurely tour of the Kilby Historic Site with its magnificent 1906 General Store Museum. Visitors will view a fascinating gallery of product packaging dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. Don't miss the intriguing artifacts in the heritage Post Office and Manchester House Hotel; both were an integral part of the Harrison Mills community at the turn of the twentieth century.

The Kilby Park is situated on scenic Harrison Bay right here in Harrison Mills, with a beautiful 22-site waterfront campground complete with picnic tables, a day use area, sandy beaches, nature trails and a boat launch. The park is within walking distance of the museum, just at the end of Kilby Road. Our campground operates on a first come, first served basis, and is open year round.

A nice place to come on a Sunday. Sunday is the best day because they serve a roast lunch. The quality was ok, I think the meat was over cooked which ruins it a little for me. The lunch was a big portion that is filling for the rest of the day. After lunch, it is worth visiting the museum. The best part of the museum was the store and hotel upstairs. The post office was interesting too. It was nice seeing all the old products. This place is well preserved and everyone should visit at least once.

A bit off the well traveled roads, but worth a visit. Fun for children, as they have animals they can feed. Lot of background information available there. Nice little coffee shop there as well.
