Where do I start? I am glad I convinced my parents to not to send me to khalsa secondary 2 years ago. There was a major adjustment from going from a one culture school to the real world. Socializing and group work with other cultures in public high school has been a difficult adjustment. Parents think the school is good because of the khalsa name and there's a gurdwara inside but that's not how it is. Khalsa school has a lot of issues! Not allowed to talk in class. No socializing during lunch. No recess break. Eat lunch in class and not allowed to speak. My grade 7 teacher called the principal the Warden and the teachers are guards. Hello! We aren't in jail. It's a school! My friend complained to the principal when the grade 7 teacher Mrs. Gosha started talking about hinduism and that sikhism is a branch of the hindu religion and the rituals of taking amrit is from christianity and the kirpan and rules was from the christian knights temple [she couldn't say templar properly or many other regular English words]. The principal gave her a speech about not going over the teacher's head and that theoretically she is right about sikhism being from hindu religion. My friend got in so much trouble by Mrs. Gosha and told her that her and the principal are best friends and she is untouchable at her desk where we could all hear. After that she said she isn't scared of complaints because brahma and vishnu has her back and we should read the geeta for truth.nLook at the reviews. They are mostly from teacher's and the Malik family. Back then a grade 5 girl went around saying her mom and dad own khalsa school and screams and yells at other students even older ones like the grade 7ers. The teacher warned us about her and she could finish us in the school. Her mom is an abnoxious lady that yells to.nOther students at my high-school that went to khalsa school elementary hated it and wished they never went. The school brags about an old student who is famous. Yeah, famous! His name is Mindy Bhander. Look him up. They have another now famous ex-teacher named Bhupinder Sonu. Look him up.nThe school only cared about the grade 4 and grade 7 FSA exam. We spent half of grade 3 doing mock tests and the same in grade 4 up until the FSA test. Same in grade 6 and 7. When the FSA was done Mrs. Gosha joked to take the rest of the year off because we filled the khalsa school requirements. I feel sad I was part of this and hate that I contributed to getting them higher education standings.nIf you care about your children then think of their mental health and find another school. There is no sikhism or proper education at these schools. And the bus drivers are rude!
Big school campus located on Scott road at old Yale road.nVery good infrastructure including buildings, transport buses , kids play area, offices etc.nEntire campus is very well signed & marked in a safe & organized way.nIt served elementary as well high school level education for Punjabi community which is not limited to Canadian culture.nVery nice people working at this premises.
My daughter is in kindergarten, with in 4 months her confidence level is going up day by day, I am very much impressed by the way of teaching and giving home work every week by her home incharge Ms. M Arora. She is very nice teacher , every student likes her a lot, her teaching skills are great. Evening classes are also very good for students to learn all types of path like japji sahib. Khalsa school is the best school in surrey. Highly recommended.
1year my kid is going to khalsa school Old Yale road, surrey. I am totally satisfied with syllabus and teaching style. They are very disciplined and much better than the district schools where 5th class students are roaming in parks outside after school and having stuff behind the bushes.. i like students more under supervision especially when they are too young and are very vulnerable to exploitation.
I don’t know where to start. Parents who are sending their kids to this school need to be aware of the outrageous situations that are being created for their kids. I will be speaking on the behalf of my cousin who is 8 years old attending Khalsa elementary school who we had to just today withdraw from the school do to the fatal injuries, child neglect and abuse she experienced both from her teachers and other children in her class. The lack of action taken by the school administration regarding these matters has left us extremely worried about the welfare of our children attending Khalsa elementary school. It is disheartening to witness society's reluctance to address such horrific incidents, especially when they involve innocent children who depend on us for protection. We were eager to discuss our concerns with you personally, but unfortunately, our attempts to arrange a meeting have been met with refusal. This further adds to our frustration and deepens our fears for the well-being of other students who may be experiencing similar ordeals. The consequences of these traumatic experiences have already begun manifesting in my little cousin's mental health. She now suffers from major depression and anxiety disorder as a result of her time at Khalsa elementary school. I myself work in healthcare and It pains me greatly knowing the immense suffering adults endure while coping with such conditions, and it breaks my heart even more so when I think about how no child should ever have to face such stressful and mentally exhausting circumstances. At present, we are actively seeking medical attention for my cousin, aiming to provide her with the necessary care she urgently requires. It is my hope that together, we can address these distressing incidents, implement necessary measures for improvement, and ensure a safe learning environment for all students at Khalsa elementary school. We will not be sending her back to this school but for the safety of other children this shouldn’t be gone unheard.
