This boardwalk that passes through Kew Gardens is one of Toronto's highlights! It can be enjoyed all year around, there always something happening and always have people going by. Stay to watch the leaves turn color or bask in the summer sun during volleyball season. Have a cool walk in the winter or just watch the lake in all its seasons. You can't go wrong with the boardwalk at Kew Gardens! Stay safe everyone!
1st time visitor and loved it. The cleanliness and the serenity of the place is for all ages ...and pets . The boardwalk and ice cream or coffee in between is surely a treat for everyone having either a run...or a walk... or simply a stroll with their dogs
Always our destination in summer, fall and spring. Everything is maintained and easy to access Everything. It has a beach kew- bumley beach, kew gardens playground, a picnic. Area, hockey ring, tennis courts, splash pads, shedded picnic area and easy access to queen street. Which has, Tim’s in front of the playground, shoppers pharmacy, con’s bakery and many many restaurants, shops and pubs.
Accidentally stumbled upon this place years ago!! So back in 2014 i think I used to explore the city via public tranist just mindlessly riding the ttc and seeing what is out there. This particular day i rode the college high park streetcar whose last stop was right at queen st and parliament. Bus driver told everyone to get off, wouldn't hear of me staying in the bus to loop back. so I get off and cross the road to queen st and see a streetcar approching going eastward, and there is this nice old lady trying to get her groceries up the inconvenient old streetcars. The ones with the steps? The inaccessible ones?? Yes, those. Glad they phased those ones out. Like whose bright idea was it to have those run on the 511 route to the Toronto western hospital. How are wheelchair bound patients or ones with mobility issues with a walker or cane supposed to climb thr steep steps?? Anywhoo, I decided to help her carry her bags up and wr got to chatting when she mentioned she lived right on the lakeshore with an excellent beach and library close by! when i saw her struggling yet again to get her groceries down at her stop right infront of the library. I thought heck, why not help her again and visit the library and see the park. So I get to walking on the path down from the library and come accross the cutest little fairy door attached near the base of the tree. This little door is the only real reason I keep coming back to visit! Its just so cute!!!! There are so many things to explore there like an excellent wooden playground for children, multiple sports areas, bathrooms, a small cafe shop. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach itself is nice, but instead of sand its mostly pebbles and rocks. The shore isn't very child friendly as my toddler loves to play in the sand at the beach. There is a great boardwalk to stroll the lakeshore and enjoy the view. There is a dog park and also a lifeguard station, which is excellent and fully manned till sunset in the summer months. More recently was there and when we were coming back at sunset they had a huge screen set up under the stars playing the cartoon movie sing! It was an amazing experience for the kids to enjoy a movie outdoors and have dinner. Right on the street there is a tim hortons, shoppers drugmart and different food places to grab snacks. 10/10 would recommend. Playground: Love it!!!! Its a great maze play area for kids made of wood. Better than the plastic ones everywhere. Restrooms: They r ok. Dog-friendliness: There is a fenced dog area, but people just take their dogs everywhere on the beach which is off putting.
This park is so so good for a family day at the park, everything is well though out. It has a washrooms, play area, plenty of seating and a wading pool. Playground: Well designed Restrooms: Women and men and realitivly clean Picnic area: There is plenty for a picnic
It is a lovely little park. There is a beautiful public library right beside it. There are many shops to wander and restaurants to satisfy hunger and thirsty after a walk on the boardwalk along the lake.
Great area to walk your dog in the morning and in the evening. The park is really clean and safe with a lot of friendly locals walking their dogs and children in the park.
Kew Gardens is one of the special places in Toronto. I'm drawn there on any nice day. So was this Monarch. He's stopping by on his way to Mexico.
Beautiful gardens, close to restaurants on Queen. The washroom at the south end is open year-round. Access to the lake, beaches and boardwalk.
Beautiful park adjacent to the beach. Great place to walk your dog.
