Stopped in here for a quick bite and grabbed a couple smoked meat bagel sandwiches! They were delicious and fresh. Enjoyed watching the bagel making process while I waited. I also grabbed a few pizza bagels to take gone, but they were a bit of a miss for me. Definitely go for the warm bagel sandwiches !
Delicious Montreal bagel alternative in downtown Toronto without venturing to the Ottawa or Etobicoke location. 24-hours, fresh out of the oven bagels, tons of food products, there are lots of reasons to visit! This Kettleman's will keep your bagel cravings at bay. We ordered blueberry, cinnamon & raisin, and pumpernickel bagel to bring home. Also, there are special ones like green St. Patrick's Day or rainbow ones. You can also get dairy free cream cheese and other bagel toppings. There is coffee available for purchase. If you do not want a basic bagel, you can also order from their menu with lots of bagel combinations like BLT as well. You can order online via their website to specific locations for pickup. They have a pickup counter for their orders near the exit. If you're ordering in person, they'll give you a buzzer. During COVID, they have a bucket of cleaning solution for people to drop the buzzer in to clean which we thought was very considerate. Staff were friendly and greeted us with smiles and had great recommendations.
Very pleased that Kettlemans is now in Toronto. Although it has a more ‘professional’ veneer than the Bank Street location in Ottawa had, the bagels still have the classic texture/ flavour that I enjoy. The big sandwich menu is nice but, honestly, I’d be happy to just grab a half dozen sesame with some cream cheese.
Service - very friendly, fast and helpful. Clean. Food - the bagels are delicious, many different options to pick from, lots of toppings and you get to see them being made! The bagels are not American-style overflowing and thick, so it's great for those who appreciate thinner bagels. Taste - I tried the cubano, was very delicious, with a tasty sauce and cheese. I am definitely coming back.
I loved the vibes of this place…watching them make bagels live in front of you is kinda cool. And the dining area is quite cool too. However not many options of veg bagel sandwiches, but otherwise everything is okay. Must visit once to try something of your likings.
So delicious! I'm surprised the star rating is so low. Incredibly friendly staff, very clean inside and AMAZING bagels. This is a must see if you like bagels and are close by. Fair prices and you get to watch the bagel making process.
The Kettleman’s special is definitely better than I expected. I’ve gotten a dozen bagels before and wasn’t a fan but dining in and having them make the bagel sandwich made it enjoyable. The bagels are Montreal style so they’re quite small and have a huge hole so it doesn’t hold well. They have non dairy cream cheese which is great! They also have lots of non dairy flavours to buy and take home.
Awesome environment and cool the see the bagel making process. Service: 8/10. Relatively quick service and the line was moving. I always ask for recommendations - kind of sucked that the server we had didn’t have any. Environment: 10/10. This place lives up to the hype when it comes to the environment. Love the ability to see all the Bagels being made along with the whole process. It’s fantastic. Side area is great for standing and eating - perfect for the style of this place. If I could give it a 12, I would. Food: 6/10. Honestly, the food is ok. It’s definitely not a place I would frequent - bagels are Montreal style if that’s your jam. We had a California Club that’s loaded… but the skinny bagels just can’t hold everything in it… kind of disappointing. Also, I got the All dressed with some cream cheese. It too was a bit disappointing with a bunch of cream cheese on one side over the other. I’d bring people back for the environment… but definitely get food from somewhere else.
Visited due to Kettleman’s being one of the few places in the city with Montreal-style bagels. The bagels are made fresh on site and are available to go. They also have a wide selection of sandwiches as well which are also made fresh with their bagels. The bagels are a bit pricier than other places especially with either butter or cream cheese. It’s close to the same quality as a Fairmont or St. Viateur bagel from Montreal. Overall, it’s still a good option for a snack or quick meal to go.
For bagels, this place is the best! They make them right on site, so they can’t be fresher. I highly recommend getting a few fresh out of the oven, they’ll be crispy on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. These are Montreal-style bagels, so if you’re used to regular grocery-store bagels, these are a bit different and in my opinion, infinitely better.
