This school was a pretty depressing 8 years of my education. I made lots of friends, sure. However, the faculty is what overshadows any of the positive.nnFor example, if you tell teachers you're constantly being made fun of, they seem to not care. Bullying is talked about a plenty in this school, yet there is never any action taken to prevent and/or stop it.nnIn addition to the staff members being negligent, lots of struggling addicts will walk onto the school property and just hang around at the park. We’ve been put in multiple hold and secures for HOURS because of this.nnThe principal babies anyone who has an IEP and dehumanizes those she perceives as ‘different’. She’s let multiple bad students off the hook because she wants to seem accepting and supportive. But, shes so blinded by her own self righteousness that she’s actually incredibly offensive, even when she opposes that claim.nnIn my grade 8 class, there was a poorly behaved kid who was- to put it plainly- babied by the teachers, only because the current principal, Mrs. Jessica Beattie, instructed them to do so. They would constantly excuse their behaviour. If any student shoot back a negative reaction after they said something hurtful would be encouraged to not ‘provoke’ them instead of actually trying to correct their actions.nnThis student would constantly harass other students, including myself, and after many complaints, it was never dealt with. Now, there was many students such as this one mentioned, and again, they were never corrected or disciplined. If you tried to speak up about ANYTHING, the principal would call you demeaning names such as: ableist, all because you wanted at least proper action taken into consideration for poorly behaved kids.nn—Also, notice how practically all the 5-star reviews are just the teachers wives? Take that into account. They are blinded by their spouses career and want to seem supportive of this horrid environment this school forces kids into.nnI have 1 good thing to say about this school, shockingly. That would be two teachers many others and I were lucky enough to get, Mme Monks and Mrs. Menzies. Sadly, if you thought this might be your saving grace to get your child into KPS, these teachers have gone to different schools. The only redeeming part of Keswick Public School has left. Says something, don’t you think?nnFinal note: Don’t enroll your child in this school if you’re hoping for a safe, warm environment. You will get the opposite.
My son is in Grade 1, he is happy to go to school at KPS! He feels nurtured. His teacher is attentive and accommodating. The administrative staff is helpful and supportive and overall, I have confidence in this school to establish a strong foundation and learning path for my kids in French.
I went to this school for elementary and wow. This school was horrible, bad building and terrible bullying problems that the principal office barely cared about. The only reason I rate this school above a one is because some of the teachers were not bad with heavy emphasis on the some. Also the special needs department was severely lacking. Do not send your child here, the cons far outweigh the pros.
The school is trash very run down and the French program sucks there are bully’s and bad teachers and the school doesn’t care about the students all the care about are the staff don’t send your kids here
Love it! Teachers are friendly and humorous, fun events and inclusive to all students! Don't see why you shouldn't send your kids here.
