Jerome Balfour’s lack luster service as an academic adviser is factual evidence as to why Kennedy King College has and continues to experience a drop in enrollment. Mr. Balfour does not understand that as an academic adviser he is one of the first impressions of the institution that myself (a perspective student) and current students have as a deciding factor as to whether or not we choose to enroll or stay enrolled with the institution. He has a very unmotivated and standoff personality and was unwilling to offer me assistance or further explanations to questions asked. As I and others convened in the lobby we all noted the lack of progress we received after being seen by Mr. Balfour. I would like to give an excuse to his behavior as we all have bad days, but after speaking with his team members his unprofessional behavior is unfortunately his status quo. A college institution is none the less a business institution whose primary success depends on the satisfaction of their students and students alike. Whether the employee is a student employee or not, it’s imperative the staff servicing their clients are knowledgeable and trained to be a valuable resource to those seeking assistance. Hopefully in the future Mr. Balfour can motivate himself to the position he’s been granted as an academic adviser so students are encouraged to have a better college experience.

I was trying to retrieve transcripts from the school. The registrar office is unprofessional and inaccurate on 99% of their information. If you do not know the answer to a question, the proper thing to do is to find out..that would be what you are getting paid for, not misleading someone.

Love ALMOST everything about this school. My only complaint is the finance office staff. Not all of them, but there are a few who are disrespectful and do not understand there job. One attempted to DENY me of my financial aid because I couldn't prove that I financially provided for my daughter in 2015 WHEN SHE WAS NOT BORN UNTIL JANUARY 2017, and she knew that, but still insisted I needed this proof. She then suggested I get food stamps. When I asked where a DHS office was, she proceeded to brag about how she never needed food stamps, how would she know and talked down upon people who do. I dont shop at ALDI but I could easily tell you where one is located so that was unnecessary. Ridiculous. I called FAFSA and they said she was wrong. I filed a complaint with FAFSA and spoke with the president of the schools assistant Needless to say, she did not get away and I got my aid. Besides all that, everything is great there. The financial aid office manager was very helpful, and so was the second women I worked with there.
