What a lovely trip! Such a beautiful lake!! You can rent canoes and they will bring them to you! Campground was a great size for 5 people and 2 dogs! Washrooms were always clean! Highly recommend stargazing at night, renting canoes, and going to the look out trail! We will be coming back!!
Nice camp site. The facilities like washroom and shower room are sanitize twice daily. The amount of trees and greenery between sites are enough to have some privacy with nearby campers. Kearney Lake is a good place to fish and canoe. Daily drop offs of kayak and canoe rental, same as with other camp sites in Algonquin.
Lovely campground! Water taps everywhere and comfort station was a minute away. My campsite was fairly close to the lake, which had a swimming beach and an area you can tie up your canoe. Although there was only 1 comfort station for the entire campground, there was no lineup for the showers in the mornings or evenings. They were cleaned regularly. Park rangers patrolled the ground at night to make sure there are no bears or wolves in the grounds, but they made sure to drive quietly to avoid disturbing sleeping campers.
It is a smaller campground but the facilities here are great. There are public washrooms shower rooms and laundry rooms. All these facilities are very clean maintained. The staffs regularly coming to deep clean the washroom shower rooms and other common area facilities. To get firewood and ice you need to go Pog Lake Campground. The beach area is good. I recommend this campground
We were in pog lake campground it is an amazing place to stay we booked on weekend so it was kinda full which we felt is nice since we were with kids, we stayed near comfort station and kids certainly loved the swimming area and bbq experience. Will definitely come here again
Nice spots among the woods and some lake side ones too. Enough space between spots to give you privacy or an anxious dog some space. Recommend seeing the map before booking a place as some is between arms of 2 roads. The beach is actually quite small compared to the size of the campsite. Recommend going post 3pm to find a spot to look at the pristine Kearney lake. Very well maintained, clean bathrooms/shower. Water taps placed strategically- you will always find one close to you. Will surely go back again.
This campground is great! The only downside is that it lacks privacy, which I was totally fine with. A tarp could easily fix that. There’s a contained bonfire, picnic table, stinky vaultsmasks keep you safe from the smell! Lol. There’s also a public washroom, depending where your camping spot is located, it’s a short walk. They also have shower stalls, it’s open now with phase 3 in effect - unfortunately, the time I went there was only cold water so I didn’t bother. I was prepared with body wipes. There’s also a lake with different entrances, where you can canoe and swim of course, perfect for a hot day! I also noticed that this campground delivers canoe rentals directly to your camping spot, which is so great and convenient. You can easily dock it by one of the lake entrances or bring it back to your camping spot.
Our experience for the first time being in Algonquin was extraordinary. We had a wolf pass through the back of my brother's camp site on the first night we were there. We had a Timberwolf come out of the back of our site the next evening while we sat by the fire. It was calm not aggressive, but hungry. It went away when we all stood up. The 3rd night again the Timberwolf came out of the grassy trees in between our site and my brothers and ran towards the back of our site. The park wardens patrol during the evening until 3am to watch for bears and wolves while campers are sleeping. We saw a black bear by the road side eating and later that day we saw a mama moose and her baby eating in a marsh.
Beautiful, peaceful place to get away from every day life. The park employees were super helpful and a delight to deal with. Our family did not want to leave, but we will definitely be back!
Always a nice clean place to come relax. Only thing is if you are coming here to camp with a camper or rv fill your water tanks before arriving to site. There is running water at campground in various spots but nowhere to connect a hose to fill your tank up. Good fishing also caught a 4 lbs small mouth bass
