When the food is awesome, the service is amazing and the decor is gorgeous ... how can you not want to go back again? I pretty much ordered everything on the menu except one or two items due to diet restrictions. Samantha and her team are so lovely and pleasant. I've been at Kato three times in the span of 4 months this year. Looking forward to the next visit. I'll post some photos later on. Highly recommend Kato for a group or just simply an intimate dining experience. Tips: Car pool if you can. Some nights it is a bit difficult to find parking.
WOW!!! The food was absolutely beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. The fish is extremely fresh. The staff were courteous and attentive. I highly recommend checking this place out even if its just for something small. My friends and I had a fantastic girls night.
Went for date night with my husband on Nov. 24th, 2022 and we loved this restaurant. Our server Sissy was very nice and constantly made sure that everything was ok with our order. The food was so yummy and fresh!! Loved the ambiance, very cozy atmosphere. Price was good for what we ordered. We decided to order different plates and share them...which was perfect for us and even took doggy bag home with fried rice. Had 2 beers and a sushi ceasar for reasonable price. Definitely looking forward to going back!!
It’s always nice to have another option in the Ottawa area for Japanese fare and Kato was a great experience for our group of three. The atmosphere was good and the staff was very attentive, even as it got more crowded throughout the dinner service on a busy Saturday night. We ordered the short rib tacos and wagyu sliders to start, followed by steak and chefs sashimi and a few maki rolls for mains. Everything was nicely plated and the servers did a great job explaining each item. All of our choices were great, but the the sashimi was outstanding. We’ll be sure to visit again soon.
Amazing food and atmosphere! We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The Maki was incredible quality, all food was presented beautifully, and the service was fantastic! We will definitely be coming back!

Best angry chicken I have ever tasted. Fair prices however the portions are small hence the 4 star versus 5. The atmosphere is very cosy but be prepared for them to sit you in the bar area first without a reservation. The menu has a good variety of choices and the bar offers a wide range of options. Staff is very nice and helpful if you need recommendations on what to order. Definitely worth a visit.
Everything was amazing, the very friendly hostess, the chill music, rosé sangria and the sushi chefs even greeted me as I walked by while being seated. Can’t wait to come back!
Awesome sushi place. One of the best I've been. We ate a whole bunch of different things including the sushi and I can say that everything we have a really good. Make sure you get either the pork bell bao bun. Service and ambience was very good as well. Would recommend.
I would give this restaurant a 5 easily. The food was FANTASTIC! My husband got the angus steak and i had sushi for our mains. The servers were amazing, everyone very friendly, attentive and always had a smile on their face despite how busy it was. Shoutout to Alex, who was amazing! However, the wait for the food was quite long. We were at the restaurant for a little over 2 hours in total for the most part we were just waiting. The tables were quite large and my husband and i were seated across each other so it was hard to have a conversation. I really do wish they would improve on the wait times cause if not for that, this restaurant is perfect for me!!!
