Wow. Tried the charcoal sourdough bread, cheese bread, the chicken and the turkey sandwiches and they are all amazing and you can tell they're made with a lotta love. Definitely my new favorite sandwich spot. Looking forward to trying everything else. Thank you so much!
Since we live nearby, we decided to pick up a sandwich on our way to the airport. I specified that I wanted something to eat later; thus vegetarian was recommended. Between the 2 choices given me and thinking of my homemade version, I chose focaccia over sour dough. Well, the grease started leaking through the wrapping even before I walked from the shop’s door to my car parked at the curb. We ate the sandwich as soon as we could but it was an incredibly unpleasant mess. As well, the bread was so thick that it compromised about 7/8s of the sandwich, leaving a thin layer of filling. The next time we picked up a sandwich from 7/11: not too bad, less than half the price and user-friendly. Neighbours or not, we won’t go back to Karen’s.
I love this bakery! All the baked goods are of high quality and of a reasonable price. I particularly love the buttery croissants and the fluffy focaccia!
This is honestly the best bread I’ve had with my butter!! My daughter brought me home this bread and shared the friendly experience she had at the store. The nuts and sweetness of the dried fruit blended perfectly. Toast it according to your desired likeness and enjoy. This in the picture is just heated at low setting on my toaster and it turned out to be at its best. Thanks Karen, you’ve created a bread to dream for!
It is very small and cozy bakery. The quality of their bake goods is excellent. My wife and I tried their butter croissant and apple strudel. Light, fresh and airy. You can taste the quality. The croissant has a rich buttery taste. It is that really good!
The best bread! Crusty on the outside and very fresh and soft on the inside. I particularly love the walnut-cranberries and the sunflower-flax sourdough. Just wish they will make a few more varieties!
Randomly came by the bakery to grab a coffee when I saw the cinnamon buns looking fresh. Not only was it fresh…it was made from flaky croissant bread!! Will definitely be back, also be prepared not to share.
Love their focaccia! Their croissants are a bit bread-y for my liking, but that’s a personal preference. Friendly and polite service. I always look forward to finding Karen’s at the farmer’s markets!
They're not kidding, this place truly is dreamy. I've never had anything from this bakery that wasn't exceptional. The breads are incredible. You have to try the sourdough cheese bread, a little pricier than the others, but SO worth it. Every slice is cheese laden and the cheese on the outside of the loaf is abundant and has that delicious baked cheese texture and flavour. I've also had their cinnamon buns, scones, sausage rolls. Karen, the owner, is really nice and so humble, makes me even happier to support a local small business and free parking can usually be found right in front or somewhere on that block. In the nicer weather seasons, Karen attends some of the local farmers' markets. Go to her shop on MacDonald Street, across from the vehicle licensing place, buy at least a loaf of cheese bread, toast it, bit of butter. You'll thank me!
Loved it. Tried cinnamon roll , chocolate chip cookies and coffee. It was great. Good and cute place to stop by for a quick treat. Thank you
