Kanpai

A great spot for sushi nestled on Bends Westside. Fresh fish and great tastes that have a local flair. Three food was great with above average service. Pricing was as expected for quality of ingredients. Cocktails were prepared with fresh ingredients. Atmosphere is mildly upscale and well behaved family friendly. Parking is kinda challenging at times. Reservations recommended.

I rarely eat sushi bc of the poor quality and respect of fish, so extremely grateful to have a Japanese restaurant serving sustainable high quality sushi/sashimi. Large creative selection of items to please everyone. The specials are always worth trying too. Servers are alway attentive, pleasant and helpful.

The food is so fresh and delicious, my server, Lana, was absolutely lovely! She knew the menu very well, explained the specials exquisitely, and was very pleasant! I can't wait to come back!

The sushi is good. The ramen is just okay. The whiskey is overpriced. First time going to a sushi restaurant in Bend and I will say I had an enjoyable experience. The service is great and I really enjoyed the overall experience but I would recommend sticking to the sake and the beer and the sushi. I really enjoyed the vegetarian options on the sushi menu. The Godzilla roll especially was popular with the vegetarians at the table. I was also impressed by the Harley David-san great name roll. I really wasn't sure about the nuts in the roll but I actually really liked it. There are really some interesting rolls on the menu. The presentation on the Caterpillar though! Top notch! Overall I had a great time here and I would come back.

Best sushi I have ever had. The service was incredible tonight. I didn’t catch the lady’s name but she was AMAZING! The ambiance is fantastic as well! 10/10!

Kanpai is our favorite sushi spot in bend and forever will be. The staff treats us incredibly well and we feel like “regulars” although we only come every few months. If you get the chance, order the surf and turf!! EDIT TO ADD: My first review of kanpai doesn’t even do this place justice. The staff is so welcoming and amazing. My husband literally forgot his jacket there from the last time we were there and THEY SAVED HIS JACKET TO RETURN TO HIM. literally a couple months later. Incredible. Tonight was our wedding anniversary and the staff put out the red carpet for us. They are the best team in town. I worked a 12 hour retail day today and they made sure I was happy and comfortable. I will never stop coming to Kanpai. Ever. They are truly the best and everyone deserves a raise!

What a great place for sushi. Wife and I got the dinner where you pay a flat price and they bring you various dishes, it was fantastic. Sake pairing was also great.

This and Ariana are hands-down the best eateries in Bend. Exceptional service and the food.....feels like something that would stand out in civilization, so for Bend, it's otherworldly. You know a restaurant is great when the only bad reviews are cheapskates!

Ok. So. I came here for my 33rd b day at 4pm on a Tuesday. ROB a vanguard suggested - since we were up at the sushi bar - instead of the typical "spicy tuna or tempura roll" that for $40 we could have an experience of sushi like we never tasted before. WE ARE BLOWN AWAY. I STARTED GETTING TEARY EYED IT WAS SO INCREDIBLE. We eat sushi in Portland all the time....this is better than going to PDX. GO ROB!!!! We drove from the valley to come eat here.
