I have to say thank you very much! this place exceeded my expectations, I’ve have a lot bad experiences in some barbershops and salons, but this one was amazing, the place has really good vibes is beautiful and clean, the service is amazing, my stylist was an incredible person, She is very kind and I enjoyed a lot talking with her while she was doing a fantastic job, I showed her the photo of the haircut for men that I wanted and she did it perfect! Price 50$ is pretty good for the entire service!!

Absolutely fabulous place! Never fails to amaze me with the beautiful nail designs each and every time I visit. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cute decoration of the shop is there to make you feel comfortable.
This is my first comment in google because I have never encountered such a problem in Vancouver. I will try to leave comments on any online platform to remind people. I made an appointment for nail art this afternoon, and the store arranged Miki for me. It was the worst experience of my life. I've been coming to Kaen lots times before 2020 and because my friends and I all live nearby, I often recommend Kaen to my friends. I just came back to Canada this year and I've been getting my nails done at Kaen since then. First, the manicurist I was assigned to last time was Miki as well.Her technique was very reluctant and last time my nails were not very ideal. I usually paid 18%-25% tips.However, out of politeness, I still paid 15% tips last time and did not left any comment. But this time Miki's technique was really unacceptable to me. I gave her a picture of a very simple style, but when she finished it, it must be the ugliest nail I have ever seen. My friend in Singapore used to learn how to do nails by herself, she was even much better than Miki after few months learning. What was even more unacceptable was that Miki thought I didn't understand Japanese, so she turned around and whispered to the other manicurist next to her in Japanese that she wouldn't do my nails if I came back next time. I did not show any disrespect from the beginning, but Miki became impatient after I was not satisfied with her nails. In most nail salon I went to, manicurist would patiently discuss with me how to modify them if I did not like that. I was OK with most of the fingers, but I was very unhappy with two fingers, but Miki still thought I was too much trouble and was very reluctant to talk to me about how to fix it, so I had to change it to a solid color. With the less-than-ideal technology, the very ugly nails and the disrespectful speech especially after they thought I didn't understand Japanese and said those words in Japanese, it was hard for me to recommend this store to my friends anymore. I have now started looking for a new nail salon to rework my nails.
It is difficult to communicate with the staff. When I made my appointment, I told them what service I was hoping to book, and the first person told me they didn't have appointments available for the day. Second person told me they do, and I told them what service and everything I was looking for. The appointment was scheduled on the day I was hoping, but on the day of the service, they told me I booked the wrong appointment. This is not the first time. It's a little frustrating.
I went in only once, based on my friend's recommendation. The lady that took care of me was super nice, friendly and attentive to detail. She was welcoming and gentle in her work. I enjoyed getting my nails done there, and the end result looked really nice and elegant, but I felt a bit cheated when she quoted me the price at the end. I never in the history of getting my nails done for years been charged with a 15$ "filing fee". I mean, anytime you go in to get a fill, the filing is automatic. I thought maybe the 2 shell nails would be pricey, but the minimal simple flowers ended up being the priciest, at 16$/nail... For a flower. Not even 3D or anything ornate or complicated. For this reason, I would probably give this place a 3.5, but I can't, so I gave it a 4. A 3 would be too little, as the quality and attention to detail and overall experience during my time there was great. I just felt ripped off at the end, and that feeling stayed with me, in spite of the "prettiness" of the nails.
Great skills, attentive staffs, easy to communicate. My hairstylist took time for me and did his best to match how I wanna look like. 10/10 recommended!
I’m so pleased with my manicure!! One of the only places in vancouver to offer biogel soft gel manicures and I’m in love. Great attention to detail to evening the size and shape of my nails and the design work. Also they have multiple nail artists, not just Yasushi.
