The name is very misleading, I was pretty sure they would only serve Kababs and donairs, but boy was I wrong! They have a very large Indian menu with something that will appeal to everyone. The food is delicious and comes out of the kitchen quickly. The restaurant has a lot of seating available, which also from the road doesn't look like it. It's worth trying if you are down on 8th street and want some real comfort food.
Updated February 25th, 2023 Our 2nd visit to this eatery on our Saskatoon trip today. We liked the food last time and this time was no different. We ordered Nihari beef Stew Chana Buthara chickpea curry with fried bread Latcha Partha Multilayered Fired bread Nan and tea. Everything tasted delicious and very authentic. Highly recommended Little gem in Saskatoon and f you like South Asian food. We went for breakfast and ordered Lacha Paratha kind of fried flat bread Keema Nan flat bread with minced beef filling, Chana Masala chickpea curry and tea. Food was simply outstanding. We loved everything we ordered. Taste just like home cooking. Price was reasonable as well. Server was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean and well maintained. First time we saw tables with built in spots for hotpot in South Asian restaurant. We didn’t get to use it but it’s a good idea. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Many vegetarians items on menu Parking: Lots of parking available in front of restaurant
From regina to Saskatoon, came to visit friends, got hungry wifey wants to have some good old Pakistani food, so decided to try kabab king, wifey eating my brain out to eat halwa puri, luckily they serve till 3pm so we are luck. Halwa puri delicious is a understatement, bit spicy but loved it, portion is good for two person, then we order nihari and two naan, we order mild spicy, very authentic taste love it, portion for one. Last but not least order a chicken biryani mild spicy again, it was too, portion for two we can say, overall good tasty food, ambience good. Clean place. I recommend them..
The Kabab are good but biryani needs to improve. The place needs upgrades. The place is clean and staffs are friendly.
The food is amazing. We ordered wrap and chicken tandoori. The food was served very quickly too. I would like to visit again soon.Food: 5/5
I have to say this place serves the best Chicken Biryani and curry!!!!! I would give 10 stars if I could
I had the lamb vindaloo and samosa which were both very good. The green chutney that comes with the samosa was much better than anywhere else I have tried. The lamb was very tender and the dish had a good mix of meat and sauce The service was fast and the staff was very friendly. I was very satisfied with my experience and will definitely be visiting more often.
Decided to try out Shakeel’s for their lunch buffet. There were lots of great options. The food is flavourful and fresh! They brought out hot naan to the table, and all the staff were very friendly. Excited to come back and try their desserts next.
Halal food. Competitive food quality and quantity. Medium price range. Less waiting period. Pre-order options. Nice and clean dining area. Big parking lot. Knowledgeable staff. Fairly Recommend.
My new review for the 8th street restaurant : BAD BAD BAD! Do not buy food from here. It's tasteless, oily, smelly ! And they r so late in serving. You can hear people singing and shouting at the back kitchen area but the waiting time is over 30 min. There r many better options to have East Indian food. Portion size small for the price. And ever worse food quality. Stars for the interior of the restaurant and the location. My old review for the old Sutherland restaurant : Small place but their food is really good! Once they were the best! Now too many competitions! But still they maintain their tradition
