A little taste of Mexico in Edmonton Alberta. Never been to Mexico tacos were very nice, they had a bit of spice which I liked. The margaritas were very yummy also. The bulldogs are also very tasty! Each meal was very filling. My friends ordered a chimichanga, enchilada and burrito, they all enjoyed their meals! Service was good! Our server Jamie gave us great recommendations on what to order the menu was quite large. I enjoyed the place a lot, walked past it many times and I’m happy I decided to check it out.
Came here on a Tuesday and they had a great deal on tacos and the special bulldog. We ordered a lot of tacos and we thought they might skimp on portion size considering it was Taco Tuesday but no. They were very full and all of them were very tasty. We each tried a different bulldog shoutout to whoever named them and they were also delicious. Had a great time here. The only thing missing was perhaps some live music to really keep the vibe alive.
we went to Julio's on a whim and were delightfully surprised! the food was a delight, and so filling portions are quite big, which is a bonus. we tried the chicken and feta enchilada, the falautas and the chicken tacos, all were great! they have a lot of items that can be shared amongst large groups, and the atmosphere and decor were so charming! staff was very friendly. overall really good place and i cannot wait to visit again!
The food here has a great portion, tastes good, and they give you a generous amount of toppings/food for every dish. I had fish tacos that comes in 4, and I was full by the 2nd one. The fish was crispy on the outside and firm and tender on the inside which is really delicious. The pickled vegetables add a nice taste to the dish. We also ordered nachos. It has a very generous amount of toppings, cheese, and with a variety of dips. Highly recommend for a big group as this can be a great appetizer. I would come back here for the drinks, especially the raspberry margaritas. I like sour so the lime and raspberry create a perfect combination of sweet and sour, but leans more towards the sour, which is perfect for me.
Go on Taco Tuesday for the taco deals 3.50 a taco that's about it... The tacos on special were amazing and delicious. Can't be said for the other food. Had nachos a few weeks earlier, which weren't anything special but left me with the craving for Steak Fajita. This past visit, we went for them, and it was a disappointment. The steak was grisly and cut so fat it was hard to chew through that, and for how expensive the dish was, it looked like all about 5oz of steak. The waitress was very nice and did get the kitchen to make more steak and cut it thinner, but someone should be monitoring the food to ensure quality food is coming out of the kitchen. For how many options you have on whyte, I would suggest somewhere else. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free and Vegan menus available
Great food and service. I found out today Julios has been around over 30 years but they have never changed the amazing recipes/drink menu in items such as deep fried ice cream. The taco portion on Taco Tuesday is HUGE and so are the shrimp they use in it.
Service was decent for a busy restaurant. Ordered the meatless enchiladas and an appetizer, appy was good but the enchiladas had an off putting taste. Tried masking it with sour cream but i couldn’t do it. Server was great about it. About 1.5 hours later I’m violently throwing up, dizzy, felt like I had a fever all of a sudden and in excruciating stomach pain. Love Mexican food but I have to say this has been the worst food poising of my life besides the one time I tried tacobell.
One of the nicest mexican restaurants in edmonton hands down. Its in the heart of whyte ave. Highly recommend checking them out. But be ready to wait a lil as the place is almost always pretty crowded and so the service gets affected. But the food is worth the wait. Also try the fried Mexican ice cream .. if you like desserts.. you will love it. The chimichangas is good too.
1st visit: This eatery is overrated. The prices have gone up recently given the inflation, however the food quality and quantity has gone down. Ordered nachos and Chicken Fajitas along with Sangria. The Chicken Fajitas lacked flavour and it took them half an hour to prepare it. The tacos along with Chicken Fajitas were cold and damp. The nachos were ordinary and could have used more cheese and toppings given that the restaurant charges $23 for it. The Sangria was full of ice even though it was requested for less ice. 2nd visit: This time the food and service were much better. Ordered the Full plate of Chicken Nachos and Sopas de Tortilla. We were promptly seated as soon as we arrived. The Nachos plate was huge and loaded with beans, chicken, and veggies, however it didn't have enough cheese to bind everything together. Still, it is a big improvement compared to our last visit. The soup tasted alright and given the cold outside, it was enough to warm oneself. The soup could use more seasoning.
Had the beef enchiladas without the feta cheese on top. They were great and I'll be sure to make a return visit. Foster, thank you for making a great lime margarita! Food: 5/5
