Everything at Joy foods is absolutely delicious! So much selection. From fresh pastries, sandwiches, cakes and snacks, this is my local go-to spot when I want a treat or a hearty meal from the hot table, whether to dine in or take away. Even better, highly recommend the homemade gelato. Many flavors to choose from - Lemon, Strawberry, Chocolate, Tiramisu and more. The gelato is made on site and a perfect accompaniment to their food. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for catching up with a friend over coffee or having a meal together. Best to order a few different things so you can share as you will definitely want a taste of everything!. Parking: Huge lot. Kid-friendliness: Gelato and lots of tasty food selection. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, including washrooms.
The fish and chips were good. Different from what you usually get from the Brits. Gelato was amazing. Loved the dark chocolate and pistachios! Wish they installed blinds though. The sun just kept hitting us. Also, a bit strange to order as it was our first time there. No waitress came up and gave us water and menu.
They have great gluten free and dairy free foods as well as coffee. Their sweets are savoury and their staff are so pleasant and kind. Modern chic decor, makes it even more pleasant. Update: The food is good a bit pricey, unfortunately they don’t have everything on the menu. Some of the food I ordered took over 30 minutes to come. Sometimes I had to remind the server about my food. In another instance When I asked for the Sunday gelato they were promoting, the server didn’t know what I was talking about. I had to show her a picture and still she didn’t understand what I was talking about, until I explained they were offering this signature gelato at their restaurant. They do make their own desserts which are actually delicious and food is fresh.
I ordered the Margherita pizza and I enjoyed every bite of it. Great staff Natasha and her manager were great and very helpful. Definitely recommend
THIS PLACE IS PURE JOY. The vibe and ambiance are so warm that you will feel welcomed. There are plenty of food options to choose from. Croissants, cakes, pastries, macaroons, you name it. Seating is spacious and very clean. Food is delicious. Service is quick. Staff is friendly. A special shoutout to J.D. She made my day with a lovely welcome. Highly recommended. It is situated in Burnhamthorpe Mall, and there is plenty of parking spaces available.
A great restaurant addition to the Burnhamthorpe Mall! As a restaurant offering Italian, Mediterranean and Balkan-style food, they offer a lot of handmade food dishes and stock a lot of European products that you can buy in the store. Worth stopping by for food, dessert or to buy imported products! Since opening, they've narrowed down some commonly ordered items and have trimmed the menu, so you'll need to go in person to get the most current food offerings. They have two separate menus for food and beverages at the cashier with lots of space for you to dine inside or outside at their tables. The staff were very nice and gave great suggestions for food options. We ordered the Italian Sandwich and the Spaghetti Bolognese. Both were very delicious and very well presented! For beverages, we ordered the Magic Berries Smoothie and the Ice coffee-Joy style which meant you get to choose the ice cream to blend with the coffee. According to staff, most people choose vanilla ice cream as their blending choice. Will need to come back again to try their huge dessert offering!
Had to stop by and try the latest addition to the neighbourhood. It’s a great space with a community type ambience. You can tell they’re new to the business as they are still trying to get the flow of how to run their space. They were consistently busy which is nice to see for a new spot on the block but there was a bit of a disconnect on how to order/seating yourself and not necessarily having wait staff that are constantly checking in. We think this will change as they get into the swing of things. Of course to try more we shared a few things. To start, a Meat Burek, followed by a Diavola Pizza and the Greek Platter. Everything had great flavour just a tad bit too much salt. We had some gelato to finish which was delightful! We will definitely be back to try more and support a new local business.
I stopped by while out for a bike ride, just a wonderful place. A superb ham and cheese sandwich on a fresh croissant. Then a small desert which was sublime. The most difficult thing was trying to decide what to have. Service was a little slow as there was only one person working the counter, but well worth the wait. I enjoyed the small patio area outside. A neighbourhood gem for sure! Kevin
Extraordinary place, hidden in the Burnhamthorpe Mall. Lovely pastries and a menu full of tasty-sounding specialties we had coffee and cake, which were served up as if we were in a Viennese café. Interesting artistic touches and an attentive and considerate owner. Worth a drive to enjoy this uniquely attractive space and vibe!
