Ordered a wing meal with yams and Mac n cheese and it was awful. Extremely salty chicken. Extremely salty Mac and the cheese did not adhere to the noodles so the texture was horrible. The yams were over cooked and way too sweet. Couldn't even enjoy it, money wasted. Do not recommend

I had the chicken dinner combo with Greens and Mac&Cheese, with Cornbread and it. Was. AMAZING . It was my first time going, and I will definitely be going again. The only downside was parking is super limited and I had to spin the block twice cause it wasn't anywhere to park lolFood: 5/5

The best home cooking in the city. Great staffing. Happy environment that makes you feel like you're at home. My personal favorite is the fish dinners Recommended dishesDressing, Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Rib Dinner, Mac and Cheese Catfish Greens Cornbread

I got the fried chicken wings, m&c, and yams. Other meal was smothered pork chops, collard greens and m&c. Wings were good, fried with no seasoning, dip it in hot sauce. M&c were perfect. Yams were a tad sweet but great. Collard greens were a bit salty though. Overall enjoyed the food. Cute little corner kitchen. Food prices are not bad. Sundays are the best time to go.

We from Dayton went to Michigan stopped here for hands down the best soul food we had in a long time I definitely recommend anyone who’s in the Toledo area to stop by great service excellent food

Not much left to choose from. But we went an hour and a half before closing so I do understand. The fish was a little salty. But over all okay.Food: 3/5

Amazing, real deal soul food. Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever eaten seasoning is fabulous, might be the best mac & cheese too, at least top 2, greens are on point too. Definitely try this spot out, was only my second time there 1st in 3 years but still is delicious.... 5 stars is not enough for Josephine's Soul Food. Love it

Absolutely the best comfort food in town. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. The meatloaf is the best I've ever had, the ribs are smokey and tender and every one of the sides are on point. Everything is made from scratch and most is ready for carry out but you can call ahead to order.

I have to admit that it takes me forever to try some Mexican, Chinese, and Soul Food places. It's because in many places they can be hit or miss and I'm pretty particular. Likewise, it took me TOO long to get my butt to Josephine's. I'm even more ashamed because it bears my grandmother's name lol. I finally managed to call in an order. The 20 minute wait time was very reasonable and the place is easy to find. It's a quaint little place that's like visiting your grandma for some home cooking. The retro tables and chairs are perfect. There are a few places to sit but I can imagine that most want to eat this yummyness while snuggling at home. My first time I got a variety of entrees. I tried the fried catfish, ribs, greens, potato salad, sweet potatoes, and green beans. Everything was cooked to perfection. No soggy cornbread or overcooked greens. The catfish was perfectly crispy and flaky and the ribs were tender and smothered with flavorful BBQ sauce. The entrees are plentiful. I have been there a hundred times since then! My friends and family love it. I do wish they had some smaller entrees for days when I have a lighter appetite. Sometimes I just share one entree with someone else lol. I highly recommend it.
