Good service but food was all right. Tried their Thanksgiving Brunch. Fried turkey on top of Waffle, base was a bit sweet. Smokey Salmon Benedict was ordinary, similar as other brunch places. Pumpkin was special though, came with fruit and yogurt. Pudding was the least favorite one. Dessert was good, ice cream on top of some warm base, mixed with nuts and cinnamon flavor.
Excellent tasting menu and service. Of course, as a restaurant in a hotel, the high quality service is expected and here, it is met. The tasting menu was amazing. The 3 amuse bouche was great to start with. Each dish was delicate. Only downside is that the tasting menu doesn’t change so often. Still highly recommended to try.
Not a traditional afternoon tea. Still nice in that you get one tea with the savory and one with the desserts/sweets. I do wish they had the traditional scones instead of the single scone cone. The sweets were more impressive than the savory options. The decor was really beautiful though.
My new favourite place for tasting menu, as of April 27 2022. Great food, especially for the price under $100/person. Head chef is Antonio Soriano and does a fantastic job with the dishes. They really need to put together a Wine pairing option, just a little splash for each dish would suffice. Need a good Somm on site. I wasn’t offered the service from a Somm during my dining. The server was not very knowledgeable in wine which made things a little difficult. The wine selection by the glass were not matching up to the tasting menu. Slight disappointment. There are still things that needs improvements, 5 stars for the delicious food and support on Google, but it’s really a 4 stars overall for now as I look forward to more improvements on service and wine offerings. Best wishes.
Edit: A mark of a great restaurant that values service and experience is ensuring that your customers are felt and heard. Upon returning for a second time, we were blown away at the level of service, the special attention to detail on each of the dishes and the complexity of pairings. Special thank you to David, Ryan and Eva for making the second visit a memorable experience. Highly recommend, 5 stars!
Had Saturday brunch here last weekend and the crème brûlée french toast was divine! Another standout was the striploin steak, cooked to a perfect medium. The other two dishes we ordered were good, but not anything too special compared to your usual brunch offerings. Located right off the lobby, the ambiance at Joni Restaurant was comfortable with understated elegance. The level of customer care was exceptional in all aspects from the valet staff to our server. Lovely experience I will definitely repeat in the near future!
Beautifully designed space, food and service never disappoints, I find the ambiance perfect for conversation without being too quiet or too loud. The Writers Room bar is a short elevator ride away for after dinner drinks. Impeccable vibes.
Joni received lots of mix reviews. Some said very good, some said very disappointed. I gave it a try on New Year Eve. It only offers tasting menu at a price of $190 per person. Upon arrival, valet parking is almost a must, unless you parked at Yorkville public parking. Start with bread and some Italian sauages. Bread is surprising good, comparable to Louis Louix and Alo. Then oyster with creamy sauce, I like the combination, chef is very creative. Next course is the fras gois with the cute little pieces of bread. There is fish broth served, and I feel like the broth is a little salty. The halibut course is amazing, fish meat is firm and fresh. Next course is a piece big ravioli with truffle. Nice execution in this course, the waitress told us to cut in half, and there will be a raw egg inside. Last main course is the tenderloin with lobster. The steak cooked medium rare, and very tender. Finally dessert is a small cream puff with ice cream on a tart. Again, nice presentation and can see the chef put the effort on each course. I love Joni at Park Hyatt!
Went for a lunch tea time. Had an impeccable experience. It was a redo because of a previous experience that the manager took care of. Previous was lack of service for about an hr not receiving anything. This time unbelievable in treatment with great French wine, caviar and all the extras. Great people watching :
Had the absolute pleasure to dine at Joni for a great night of food and drinks. To simply state it, Exquisite interiors, Spectacular food and Courteous service! The menu is curated by the chefs with impeccable dishes using local Canadian produce and they do perfect justice to that. 5 stars and more than recommended!
