It rained the day of my daughter's birthday party but being inside the shelter kept everybody dry! We had a blast and continued the party once the storm passed. Renting the shelter was the smartest and most beautiful part of the party. It was very inexpensive and will be doing it again, soon!

Nice quiet park by the Fox river, great for a picnic.
If you know where to look there is American/Native American history to be seen at Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve!

Many activities can be done here like camping. I do plenty of camping here and it's a blast. Long trails, flat lands to play sports and close enough in case there is an emergency but the Forrest is thick enough to smell the fresh breeze and let loose.

Wonderful park! This park has many things to enjoy from shelters, to trails, to history, and train rides. There are may trails here to enjoy since it is right off the fox river trail. Also there is some history here because there are grave site of soldiers in the park. The trolley from the South Elgin Trolley Museum has it's endpoint here on weekends that it is running. You can either start from the Trolley Museum and ride to the park or ride from the part pay at the Museum and ride back. There is also fishing and boating available here so lots to enjoy.
