John's BBQ Chicken

The lunch combo is pretty good value but isn't exactly a cheap meal. You get half a chicken, rice and potatoes for about $12. There's an option for mild or spicy chicken. It's definitely filling.

I have tried John's BBQ twice, and the chicken is good. I also appreciate calling in to place an order for pickup. However, I don't appreciate placing an order for pick up at a certain time and still having to wait in line for 10 minutes for people who are placing walk in orders. This defeats the purpose of me calling in ahead of time. There are other Portuguese restaurants in the community I'll be trying before I go back to John's.

Terrible planning by the staff. I ordered a small amount of food for Christmas eve for 4pm. When ordering, they warned me the wait might be 30min. I was in line outside and finally got my tray of cold fish at 5:45pm. The food was good though once we warmed it back up.

I liked it a lot, this is even better, the grilled chicken is very tasty.

Don't waste your time! Always call first. Never just go planning to just walk in and order. If you can't get anyone on the phone go somewhere else. Why? Not once but on 3 different occasions, they are closed with a sign on the door for all different reasons. After the second time, I double check their website and google listing to make sure they are open. Says they are open. Drive there and NOPE... Sign on door closed for 3 weeks!! They don't update their website or google listing. I like supporting small business but not small, mindless, inconsiderate operators. There are plenty of options, I now consider first.

Been eating here since I was a young teen in the 90's ordering them crispy dollar fries in the paper bag. Moved onto the steak on a bun later in life and now love that chicken rice and potatoes with the hot sauce. John and his family and staff have been doing it right for atleast the 25 years I've gone there. Happy they are making it through these difficult times that are killing some of the best small restaurants out there.

This place I have been going for 15yrs Lately it has dropped considerably The lady that used to be there , I don't see her anymore She packed the food with integrity and the portions were spot on! Now there are new people, who can't even speak English and they can't pack the food It's sloppy now I see John there but he was never a customer service person Leave him on the grill I don't know what went wrong here or where is the lady! Who the he'll is maria! She doesn't know anything about this business!

This place is definitely a 5 star. Don't judge a book by its cover. Very generous and fresh food. Very friendly staff.

We just grabbed the dinner deal,its half a chicken with rice and potatoes, its delicious, we also got half a lb of pork crackling, we ate it in the car park as they looked so delicious, and they were,we are big eaters and the portions are great,this is a hidden gem of a place...

Amazing chicken! Love the little potatoes! Rice is perfectly done! Always a great meal! Super friendly! My go to place for chicken!
