Fish and chips were perfect. Cook time, oil temperature, batter constancy, all on point. Highly recommend the fish and chips. Was not expecting it to be that good.nnAtmosphere and service was as you'd expect at a university oriented pub.
Where to even start nWell for one, best potato skins I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite had me “OMG’ing”. I feel like I’ve never actually had potato skins before because these were amazing. Also I got the main course I had ordered hot turkey sandwich and figured no way could it be as good as the potato skins. It was also amazing. So so good. The portions are also really big. I’m pretty sure I had more than half to take home. The waitress was checking on us frequently and was incredibly nice. And it’s such a cute little spot.nBut in all honesty their food there makes me never want to eat anywhere else ever again, because it will only disappoint in comparison. One of the best restaurants and one of the best meals I’ve had in a very very long time.nAlso forgot to mention their menu is huge. 4 pages front and back, so so many options. Can not wait till I can go back.
We were on a small road trip and we asked a friend where we should eat while we were in the area and they told us we had to check out this place!nnWe were very pleasantly surprised! We thought we would be getting just pub food but it had such an awesome flair to it.nnWe tried the potato skins which was sooooo freaking good, the chicken alfredo & the French dip. Everybody was amazing!nnThe only thing was the service was very slow but it was very busy the service was very friendly and the food arrived hot.
Solid spot, can't exactly say it was fine dining or catered to a specific niche or cuisine, but it had some very standard pub food.nnThe fish and chips were actually quite nice, but the famous potato skins were pretty rough. Kinda just a pile of old potatoes dumped with Lawry's. But hey what can you do. Not a bad spot to fuel up before a big ol wolfville day
Great spot for casual eats and drinks. Very reasonably priced for significant portions. Joe's has been around for decades so they are doing it right. We had ScottSkins and the Axemen burger, very good. The fries are fantastic as well.
