I have been going to Joe's for 40 years. I knew the original Joe and asked him why his hamburgers tasted so good. He said he grinds up the whole animal, steaks, hamburger and more. He also used cast iron fry pans and cooked them in their juice. Then the state stopped in and made him follow certain laws. I believe they had a fire, they remodeled, Joe died, and the present owner has been there about 15 years. The hamburgers are still excellent, but much smaller than the old days. Soup is also excellent. The sides I don't eat. Drinks are good. Joe's is a long time landmark. I know people that stop every time they go to Door County.

Service is excellent, beer is good but our idea of a great burger is NOT a flattened beef patty with cheap American cheese served to you without so much as a plate! Sorry guys... even paper plates would be a step up.

What's not to love? Great atmosphere, burgers on paper plates and amazing chili.

Waitress was very nice, the food was excellent as always. Had a cheeseburger or a bowl of chili to go, and a piece of coconut cream pie excellent. John Harris

$7 double cheeseburgers that are worth their weight in gold. Fries, chili, etc; are worth the drive to Joe Rouers.
