Really enjoyed our dinner at jesters. Was served by Steve who did a great job of taking care of us. Watched a bit of the game on one of the many TVs visible. Based upon his recommendation we started with the spinach dip which was the best we’ve ever had. It could be a meal on its own. We also had one of their signature burgers and a fish and chips and both were excellent. Certainly worth a visit.
Small venue in Lorne Park that has yet to disappoint. Great tasting menu and good selection of beers on tap. Menu has a focus towards slow cooked and barbeque options, but everything has been delicious. A local spot that is going to get plenty of more visits.
At least the fish was good. Sadly that was the only good experience my partner and I had at Jesters. From the time we arrived the shape of things was decidedly pear. After being seated we waited for 10 minutes before having a server come over and only then after I signalled that we were waiting. My partner asked for one modification for his meal which was gluten free pasta, and I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular. Mine came out with regular fries and his…didn’t come at all. After 15 minutes of me slowly eating waiting, a manager came over and asked what was going on. Clearly the meal hadn’t arrived. So she “got right on it”. His meal arrived with the pasta incredibly undercooked. So, then a different dish was asked for. This dish when arrived needed pepper so that was asked for. 7 minutes later…it didn’t arrive so we had to ask for it again. AGAIN. When it came the manager was crusty and said “do you want the pepper or not”. So the fish was good but sadly nothing else was.
We just moved into Lorne Park and Jesters was the first patio we went to once COVID-19 restrictions allowed patio dining at restaurants. The menu is quite large and there are tons of different options available for everyone. The food was better than we expected it to be for pub-type food! The waitress did mix up all of our orders a few times when it came down to paying the bill there was 6 of us so it's understandable. Other than that, the staff was extremely friendly and we'll be going back to try out different dishes.
Providing a 2 star review only because our first two visits were adequate and our server Heather I think was great. I will not share the whole diatribe here as my partner already has. Suffice it to say having recently moved to the neighborhood we really wanted to like this place and make it a good walkable options for ourselves and visiting friends. You know when you get that awkward feeling; when service, and orders, and bills, and food coming out are all wrong…be prepared for this. To make matters worse there is no urgency or apology in making things right. A simple acknowledgment or apology goes a long way. Most of staff that should be checking tables prefer to congregate at the bar to talk to what I imagine are regulars. I wish this business well with their existing customer base as no efforts are made to engage or convert new customers. The Jester theme is quirky. Maybe a fresh coat of paint and some dimmers could mellow out the 90s funhouse theme.
BF and I really enjoyed our meals - had the King Burger and Brisket sandwich - both were really delicious - would have both again. The house salad was different than what you would expect and really tasty! Great fries. Staff were attentive and really nice. Will definitely be back. Great location, restaurant has a nice vibe. Excited for the patio in the summer. Trying the nachos next time they looked great.
Was not impressed by the poutine or the pierogies … if you can call them that. The old fashion cocktail was watered down and not very typical. The waitress took our food away before asking if we were even done. The only nice thing is that patio is very cozy so if you want to grab a beer and sit there then it’s an ok place to be at.
Our waitress Heather was so nice and welcoming! The food was great and even though was not around us we will be coming back soon. Recommended highly if looking for a nice restaurant with great food!
Fantastic dinner at Jesters. The server was friendly and attentive and all of his recommendations were spot on. The Brussel Sprout appetizer was so good and a meal in itself. All of our meals were fantastic. We are looking forward to going back!
Went here on a Friday night. They had just recently re-opened as Jesters, so the place was packed. After being seated near the kitchen it was so dark we could barely see our food, our waitress offered us drinks, which took a while. I ordered a pint of Stella, and got a half pint. My wife’s drink took forever. We ordered the mussels to start, which were lame - half the mussels were unopened. We mentioned it to the waitress, who basically gave us an “oh, that’s too bad” response. Our entrees pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich were okay, but just okay. They looked like something you’d get from a carnival food truck, not something you’re paying $18 for. We both left most of the fries on our plates and asked for our bill. Not surprisingly, the mussels were not removed from the bill I’m guessing the management weren’t informed. There seemed to be managers around, but they clearly weren’t concerned with what was coming out of the kitchen. Also, this place is quite loud...full of people and music playing...making it hard to have a conversation. We won’t be going back.
