Exceptional Service and Delicious Food with Minor ShortcomingsnnOur experience was exceptional overall. While they don’t accept reservations on weekends and operate on a walk-in basis, the hostess went above and beyond to accommodate our group and ensure we were comfortable.nnThe soy-marinated crab was exquisitely tender and perfectly balanced in flavor—an absolute standout dish. In contrast, the spiced crab fell short; it lacked the same depth of flavor and tenderness, suggesting it may not have undergone the same meticulous marination process.nnThe two meat dishes we tried—soy-marinated pork jowl and beef—were flawless. Both were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor.nnThe green onion salad was another highlight. It was perfectly seasoned without being overpowering, making it a refreshing complement to the main dishes.nnHowever, the side dishes were underwhelming. Having lived and traveled extensively in Korea, I feel Jejudo could elevate this aspect to better reflect authentic Korean dining standards.nnThe restaurant’s renovation is stunning, with upscale lighting and a modern, inviting interior. The washrooms were impressively clean and well-maintained, with the inclusion of an all-gender washroom standing out as a progressive and thoughtful touch.nnPricing is reasonable, especially considering the generous portions of sides and salads. Expect to spend $30-40 per person, which feels like great value for the quality. Don’t forget to order rice and a side of lettuce often included.nnDespite a few minor critiques, this is a solid 5-star experience. The food, service, and atmosphere make it a standout spot, and I’m far more impressed than not.
We had dinner here with friends. The food is delicious and price is perfect. We enjoy the open seating. Although I would like to have the servers check in if we need anything. We had to stop the server twice to ask for more tea. Other than that i think the server is still great.
Recently renovated with the same fantastic food and service! We had their signature raw soy marinated crab, some pork jowls and marinated pork as well as assorted seafood for Korean barbecue. I also loved the corn cheese that came with the food and everything went so well with the extra rice that we ordered! Also don't sleep on the myriad of side dishes because they can refill them if you have a favourite.nnThey get pretty busy so be prepared to wait! But it's definitely worth it and I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try high-quality, authentic Korean food.
I visited this place for lunch. The food selection was reasonable for the price, but overall, it was a bit too sweet for my taste.nnEverything else was fine, but one of the kitchen staff members stepped out of the kitchen, passed by our table, and gave me a stern look as he walked by. I don’t really understand why a kitchen staff member would come out to check on how customers are eating, but even if they do, they should be looking at the food, not staring at the customers like that.nnHe passed by our table once more before going back into the kitchen, and again, he gave me another intense stare with a stern expression. It made me feel uncomfortable and even a little scared, as if I had done something wrong.nnThis was my first visit, but unfortunately, it didn’t leave a good impression. I’m not sure if I would come back again.
Food was great! Nice sandy beach / volcanic rock interior after remodelling.nnIt was bad form / poor etiquette for them to be playing Christmas music before Remembrance Day 11/11. In Canada, most businesses know not to play festive music before 11/11 to respect our fallen and those who have served in the military.
