Fantastic experience with magnificent views. We were allowed to bring our small dog with us $6 extra fee. He loves heights and looking down on things. The hike to the top of the summit was a bit strenuous given the steepness of the slope but there are lots of rest spots along the way. There are also some viewing platforms and a small boardwalk at the upper terminal with spectacular views if you chose to not do the hike to the summit. I bought tickets online the evening before and it was a smooth transaction. We got a small discount for our early morning trip. Nice snack shop and restaurant at the top, with a small gift shop. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, gave interesting talk on way up. The tram was not too crowded in the early morning. This is probably one of the best activities to do in Jasper with a big “Wow” factor. Highly recommended.

This landmark attraction was worth visiting. It has nice picnic areas at the base station, and clean washrooms. I went during an off peak season in October, and was able to get tram tickets with no issue. If it was busier you will want to book tickets ahead of time. The view is great riding the tram to the top and also at the station at the top. You might want to stand near the back on the way up and in the front on the way down for better photo views. The cafe at the top station was a nice place to hang out to rest. The hike to the Whistlers summit can be strenuous, you will want to have hiking shoes, water and hiking poles if possible. For older folks they may need to take frequent breaks going to the true summit, as it can be steep plus higher elevation. The false summit is less strenuous and still provides nice photos and views. Overall it was an interesting attraction, while tickets were slightly pricey, it was worth the price.
Must visit attraction in Jasper. The summit trail on top of the tram is beautiful and well worth the small steep hike. Happened to experience high wind, sun, clouds, rain and hail all within an hour. Recommend to bring extra layers.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Totally awesome place to go to, loved the trip up, the people working there again, mostly Aussies, the scenery, didn't have the energy to do the 1.4km hike up to the top of the trail. Went there at night during the star sessions event, and it's like the place was transformed. Bring your best photography gear and dress warmly if you do go on one of these "flights". Lots to see and do and learn.
This ideally should be the first activity of the day. It would allow you to stretch you to reach far and wide. The beauty doesn't end so take your time. Morning 8 to 10 and evening 7 to 9 have cheaper tickets and fortunately have even beautiful views. Its a medium level hike and you may want to rest in between. Would recommend to atleast touch Whistlers point. The tram ride is breathtaking and very steep but since it is covered you may not feel the fear.
Buy your tickets in advance, you will avoid long wait times. The only downside: in the cabin going up and down, people are standing up squeezed up against each other; so if you are shorter, forget the enjoyment of the views during the 10minutes ride you get. Their base and mountain top stores have nice affordable souvenirs. Overall the experience was nice; we loved the end destination: top of the mountain. I liked their flexibility with the timing for the return to the base: you can spend as much time as you need to hike, and enjoy the amazing views.
A really great experience ,takes 9min to get to the first station where there is a resturant. From here you can walk up to the first peak but be warned it is tough due to the altitude, it took me an hour, but once there the 360° view is mind boggling. From here you can walk across the snow to the second peak, which takes another 1hr but is slightly easier. Walking boots are essential for this expedition.

We booked the later rides from 730-9 for a cheaper price. We were delayed a bit on our way up due to high winds. There seems to be only 1 tram that brings you up and down the mountain, so there’s a long waiting time to wait for your specific up time. Once you reach the top the views are absolutely amazing of the town of Jasper and the surrounding areas. The views are a must see from the top. However, at the time we went, there wasn’t must else to do but check out the views. The restaurant was closed at 7 PM and the gift shop was small with not a lot of selection. There is a hiking trail to the whistlers summit but the path takes 1 hour and is mostly steep and rocky. So if you aren’t dressed to hike, or may be hard to reach the summit. Also be aware of the strong winds and the temperatures on the top. We were not dressed properly so we weren’t able to hike to the other side. For the price you pay $45-60 depending on when you book, the views alone does not justify the price. There’s not actually much to do up top beside looking at the views and taking pictures. It was a slightly disappointing experience.
