I always heard good things about this bakery in the past. Stepped in and honestly the selection was autrocious and the prices compared to other bakeries in the area were much higher. Had a drip coffee, and for coffee that has a maxwell consistency and taste, it was garbage. At a price of $2.60 for a medium, far overpriced. The baked good were around $2-$3 more than a typical portuguese bakeries i go to. Save your money and go to another bakery.
Make sure you ask for pricing and follow up for a receipt. Overcharges and supplemental $0.25 counter charges. Although good pastries and Bread, over charged. They should post all prices and charges. Make sure you get a receipt! Then challenge the extra charges before you pay
What a nice time we had ! Loved the ambiance and mini cheesecakes The server was loud and seemed like she is in a hurry we were the only customers at 830 when the store closes at 10but she was friendly so I won’t complain
We've been coming almost daily for the past few months to get natas! They are so highly addictive, I might recommend not trying them at all.
Husband is currently dealing with food poisoning after eating a chorizo patty. Used to come here when I was younger and thought I’d share this once upon a time gem and see how this place was once again. Extremely disappointed.
Great bakery to get your Portuguese pasteries. Natas are great. Eat in spot as well. You can get your breakfast here or just a sandwich to go. Coffees, espresso's, beer. Fresh meats and cheeses as well. Cakes are way overpriced though. Open 24 hours!
The bakery does look good and has a huge variety. Unfortunately, the cakes we tried were a bit hard and stale. It is value for money but visiting this during the early hours is probably a better option than later in the evening!
Amazing stuff they have here, loved the coffee and a churro style round globe of goodness. Must try!
Portuguese bakery with a wide selection of tarts and pastries, although sometimes they are a bit stale. You should try the patties though; my favorites are the sausage or the shrimp. They are open 24/7 which is incredible. I recommend this place in the middle of the night, especially if you need cigarettes. If you're looking for the best Portuguese tarts, Doce Minho just around the corner on dufferin is the way to go.
I'm giving this place 3 stars because the son of the owner of this place turned it into something actually worth visiting. That being said, they're selling a $9 bottle of wine for $30 there. I've worked at restaurants and cafes my entire life, and studied law a little to know that this isn't right. I suggest you guys continue to make adjustments to cater to the community that has ignored this place for so long due to things like this.
