It is very rare that I’d leave a negative food review, however that was the worst food of my ENTIRE life. A gas station hot dog would have been a better choice. I ordered bruschetta, which the bread wasn’t toasted or baked so it was completely soggy. I also ordered steak and I am certain that it must have been something way back in the freezer from years ago with freezer burn. I have never been served a gray steak that looked like it was cooked on a George Foreman before, but I guess there’s a first for everything. The steak literally was not edible and I was afraid from the small bite I did attempt I was going to get food poisoning. The server acknowledged that it wasn’t good and that there had been other complaints that day regarding the steak. She offered to bring me something else, which I said literally anything that’s simple and edible. She brought me an appetizer plate with the next grossest thing I have ever ate, coconut chicken. Yes, an appetizer sized plate of over fried coconut chicken and fries. I’ve had their coconut chicken salad in the past and that was good, this was not. I forced myself to eat one because I was starving and asked for the bill. For my troubles she took off $8 . I spent $40 on food I couldn’t even eat. $40 worth of fries is a new one for me. No thanks.
Great vibe; we were able to seat ourselves at the bar on the Saturday before Valentine's Day; with small kids, it's hard to plan ahead enough to make reservations. Missing a picture of the Caesar salad; the capers on top took the salad to the next level. Calamari appetizer was pretty good too. My husband got the fish and chips; he loved his meal. The bite I got was crispy and the fish was very moist. I ordered steak fries medium rare. The herbed butter combined with the steak's juices made a fantastic sauce for both the steak and fries. Jams is definitely a place we will visit again!
Nice place. We had a larger group, and had a table in a room in the back which was nice. The service was good. I heard the short rib tacos were good, so I had them. They were alright, and the side of smoked gouda Mac n cheese was hot, and just ok. I read before coming here that the bruschetta was not very good. I agree. It was not to my liking. The coconut chicken salad was good according to my aunt. And almost all in the group was satisfied with their food and service. Not everyone though. I personally was not impressed enough to re visit this restaurant.
Stopped here for dinner with some coworkers. Our appetizers were all excellent and the food was wonderful. Great service and great atmosphere definitely will go again if I am in town.
Went to Jams on Friday for lunch with a family member. We ordered Ginger Pork Pot Stickers as an appetizer. They came very quickly and looked fantastic. Pretty sure these were prefabricated, but they were good and the hoisin/BBQ sauce was good. We tasted the slaw, but it was very bland. We both ordered salads, a Dave's and a Coconut Chicken. They both looked beautiful, and the portions were large. We were both very disappointed in the flavor, though. They tasted like nothing, as if there was no dressing at all. It was there, but it was barely perceivable. I finally had to ask for some vinegar to try to give it a little kick. The vinegar helped, but it really didn't help that much. Didn't bother to finish either salad. Service was good, as expected. Our orders came out quickly and with a smile. Server was attentive as the restaurant wasn't very busy. Value? Nope! $35 for two bland, tasteless salads is ridiculous. It's OK if they had been at least tasty. Won't be going to Jams again.
I generally avoid ordering steaks at restaurants unless it's an actual high-end steakhouse, but was hangering for some on Saturday night and decided I'd give the Steak Frites a try. Was actually pleasantly surprised. The cut of meat was great quality, and it was cooked just right. Fries were good, and my girlfriend's Crab Cake salad was delicious according to her. Atmosphere and service were great as well! All in all, I would return.
This place is bad. The Mac and cheese was watery with over cooked noodles and the sauce for the chicken strips was absolutely distasteful. This place needs some work in the kitchen. It is also very overpriced for the quality of food I received and I wish I could get a refund. $25 for a kids meal and a large watered down Mac n cheese, the only thing nice was the fries. I won’t be back again. Thanks!
Nice atmosphere, unique take on different dishes, the chef came out and spent time with us which was really nice. Enjoyable evening was made better by dining at JamsFood: 5/5
The food is delicious. I have had nothing but good luck in meals when dining at Jams Midtown. Atmosphere comes across as stuck up. Every time I walk in. BUT, I assure you, it is not that way. The staff is friendly and timely. It just has that feel of being a snooty place. Maybe it's just the dark colored decor. Still highly recommend going!
Did not enjoy my crab cakes. All filling. WILL NOT RETURN. Crab cake filling sandwiche. Appetizer crab cakes filling.Food: 3/5
