Amazing. Was in the neighborhood so we decided to grab some take out. Got the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Beans. It was extremely flavourable with the perfect amount of heat. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes.
The staff recommended the curry goat and they did not disappoint! Perfect amount of pepper spice and great flavour. Food was great on portion for the price. Coleslaw was bland, rice was fluffy, soft and buttery. I'll be back to try their oxtail and give an update
This is indeed a hidden gem in a part of Brampton. I have to give a shout out to host Jamar Mcneil on CHUM 104.5 for making me crave Jamaican food because he was talking about " Easter Bun". It instantly gave me a craving for some good Jamaican food. This restaurant is in the same plaza as my favourite Portuguese BBQ chicken restaurant. At first I could not find it, until I realized that it is located at the other end of the plaza very close to the Dog Grooming place. And I never knew that there was a dog grooming business here. I really should drive around the entire plaza one day just to make sure that I am not missing out on any other hidden gems. I called ahead to order a Large Jerk pork...but they were out....darn it....plan B....I ordered a Large Curry Chicken with Rice and Peas along with Qty#1 Fried Dumpling and Qty#1 Festival. The service was friendly and efficient. It is a bit busy, but it was nice to hear the wonderful conversations between the customers and the staff. Their happy demeanor is so refreshing and welcome. The Large portion is just that...it is HUGE. So come hungry. I have to say that this curry sauce is one of my all time favourites !!! It is such a savoury curry sauce which is mild and I just loved it period. The pieces of chicken were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. You can always taste the "Love" in this food. I find most curry dishes either a bit too overpowering on some flavours or lacking thereof. But man, this curry is fantastic. I usually eat my portions separate. For example, I will eat the rice and peas separate from the curry chicken because I really don't like my food to be all mixed up together. I know ... I know...I must have some type of OCD issues when it comes how I eat my food in such a linear fashion. But the curry sauce was so here, I just mixed all my rice and peas into the curry chicken. I couldn't get enough of that sauce !!! I will be back to try other items on their menu and to check on the consistency. Consistency is always key to any great food. So batter up and drill that stand up triple through the gap and into left field. A++ experience all the way here. Treat yourself to some Jamaican food here and let us know what your thoughts are.
Definitely what it was a few years ago. The food is Ok however their portion sizes is the smallest in town you really are not getting your moneys worth when it comes to portion. Bathroom not easily accessible and could be much cleaner. No dining area, it normally very crowded. I stopped going there because I don't think I'm getting value for money.
On Thursday my auntie went to Jamaica house and bough curry goat with plain rice Eat it later that nite and it took 2.5 hours before the toilet was my best friend early this morning. This is a first for me Cos I visit there once every week and now???? SMH. Your cook needed to cook the curry longer. Just saying.
The chicken was incredibly tender and moist, real fall off the bone chicken here without a single dry piece. My pieces were missing some skin, but the marinade and oxtail gravy were on point and complimented the slaw and rice and peas. My only gripe was that there wasn't enough chicken. They definitely fill the container, but it's not a large container or anything. It's always been that way though when I came here last 5 years ago. As for getting a smaller portion or a longer wait for being white, I had no such experience here. The receipts have order numbers. People in the back see the number and fill it out the same way for everybody. Yeah, the girls up front were indifferent, but they were indifferent to the other 6 non-white people too, so I don't think there's any of that kind of discrimination going on here. Just wanted to make that clear. The girls up front could be friendlier to the customers. It's like they didn't want to be there.
I tried half a pound of jerk chicken and a large curry goat on rice and peas at this restaurant on Aug 23, 2020. The jerk chicken was delicious and so was the curry goat. The food here is very mild not spicy. The large curry goat was $15 but it was a very small portion.
This food was absolutely delicious. My first time there and I'll definitely be going bk. Great service, clean well kept place. Everything was fresh and tasty. Staff was very courteous. Recommended.
The food was amazing! So tasty, not dry at all. The lady taking my order was an absolute gem! It was SOOOOO refreshing to visit a Jamaican restaurant where you are welcomed and served with a smile every single time. I will definitely be back!
