What a WONDERFUL place to stay! Jail Hill Inn is in and of itself a destination not to mention its close location to downtown Galena! Matthew the Inn Keeper is so kind and has really thought of all the little details that make a place over the top inviting. He truly makes his guests feel comfortable and cared for. The moment I walked into our room I knew it was going to be the nicest place I have ever stayed in my life. From the beautiful living space to the luxurious bathroom with a jetted tub and a sauna shower everything was so relaxing. There are also amazing pillows on the beds! Large, soft pillows adorn the beds at Jail Hill Inn! They put all other pillows to shame! In the morning, you are served a delicious breakfast that keeps you full until dinner. I certainly plan to make another trip there soon!

This was probably the BEST experience we've ever had at any B&B, Inn, or hotel (and we've experienced quite a few). Matthew has put his all into this place, and it shows. The incredible attention to detail is evident everywhere you look. HUGE rooms with fabulous amenities - we can't wait to try them all! I challenge anyone to find a better breakfast anywhere. Simply superb. And the icing on top of the cake? You can easily walk to the shops and restaurants. It's a real plus. If you're looking for a convenient and BEAUTIFUL place to stay, look no further than the Jail.

What an amazing place! Matt was a wonderful host and our Galena trip would not have been as great without our stay at the Jail Hill Inn. My favorite aspects was the history, unbelievable breakfast and afternoon snacks, and of course every detail of the rooms were thought out perfectly. Highly recommend a stay here! I hope it isn’t all booked up the next time we come!

My wife and I went to Galena for the weekend as a last getaway before our son is born. We found Jail Hill Inn online and booked a room for one night. We we were incredibly impressed by both the service and the accommodations. Matthew, the innkeeper, was incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. He made sure that we had everything thing that we needed and even made special accommodations for us because my wife is pregnant. The inn itself was amazing and had a rich story behind it. We stayed in suite 401 which was beautiful, but all the rooms that we looked at seemed to have their own charms. The breakfast in the morning was a delicious 3 course meal that kept us full for most of the day! We will definitely be returning to Jail Hill in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Great place to stay. It's our second time. Nicely decorated and the snacks and breakfast are amazing. Would highly recommend.
