Jade Stone installed a beautiful Granite Counter at our house in 2015. They were very easy to deal with, completely professional and we have since recommended them to two friends that have also had a great experience. We will be using them again at our new house.
I don’t normally bother to review companies negatively, but this is an exception. Would give them 0 stars if I could. Every aspect of my dealings with Jadestone was awful. I had 3 different pieces of countertop installed in my kitchen. Every single piece had been cut incorrectly and the measurements were off. The kitchen counter was installed crooked on the cabinets and one piece was cut totally wrong and not straight at all. The hole for the faucet was not centered over the sink, and they refused to replace or remake the piece, instead just saying they would cut the hole bigger and shift the faucet over. This would have caused a gap on the other side of the faucet. One of the installers said I could just buy a different faucet or cover the hole with a base-plate. That’s not what you expect when you pay for custom countertops. None of the edges are the same bevel. Some corners are very straight and pointy and others are rounded. The installers dented our brand-new fridge when they installed the countertop and were terribly rude to me every time they came back to fix any of the errors. This all happened during the height of COVID-19, and none of the installers wore masks, or had any with them when I asked. Jadestone came back to fix some of the problems, but there were so many, and after the 4th visit to my home, I had no faith that they would actually make anything better. On the visit where they came to fix the crooked island counter— the 3rd day I had take time off work to be there for their fixes, one of the installers told me to hurry up as I I was looking at the job and went on to say “I have lots more appointments today and I don’t have all day to stand here while you stare at the counter.” I was astounded. Fixing the faucet hole meant bringing back in a plumber and after having so many other things go wrong and get damaged, I decided I didn’t want the installers back in my home. They took over a month to respond to me about the unmatched edges and the off-center sink, and this meant I couldn’t finish my kitchen renovation while I waited for them to get back to me. Dealing with this company was truly a nightmare. In the end I didn’t want the installers back on my home and they refused to take anything off the price of the counter or install, despite the fact that there were and remain so many mistakes and it was an expensive purchase... and they damaged my appliances in the process of installing the counters. The quartz itself seems to be of good quality, but the company is a total disaster.
So I’m here to tell about an experience i had with this company. On 2nd of march around 7 pm a delivery truck of this company bumped into my car. The name of the driver was Alexandre Christophe. I pulled over my car and had a conversation with him. I got his details and also let him know that i am going to get the work done and he agreed with it. The next day after sending my car for getting the work done i contacted the number which he gave. A person named Chris who talked to me very politely at the start refused to pay for the damage saying his driver said there was no real damage done to the vehicle. I got really ripped off. These kind of people should never be trusted. Should have called the cops without trying to solve the issue in a nice manner!
Ordered countertop for kitchen and bathroom through kent's. Received a call for them to measure. They said they were about 10 minutes away. We had not received any prior warning. When he was measuring the bathroom he specifically asked where we wanted the faucet. Told him as it was a vessel sink it had to offset to the side. He agreed and all measurements were completed. They came to install the countertops about a week and a half later. Installers were great.they forgot backsplash but made arrangements to have it installed later that morning. During the install we noticed the faucet hole was in the wrong place. It was not offset as needed. Later in the week received notification the new countertop would take another week to have installed. We had a Plummer hook up the kitchen water supply as that counter was ok. We needed some form of water and sink functioning. When they installed the bathroom countertop was installed this time the hole fir the sink was too small. It was the Plummer who discovered the hole was too small. Jadestone made good on this and installed a new counter top and the hole was cut on site to fit the sink. We had to have a Plummer come a third time to hook up bathroom. Basically 3 installs and 3 plummers later and 3 weeks the installs are complete. The overhang on the countertops is less than 1/2 inch but with the edge cut we chose it doesn't look too bad. We are absolutely happy with the installers, but the rest of the service was terrible. Even when it was there mistake things were done when convenient for them. They didn't care about us being inconvenienced for 3 weeks. It also cost us 3 Plummer installs which as we all know is not cheap. Did jadestone do anything to correct this issue no. Did Jadstone apologize ...no Would I recommend Jadestone absolutely not. If I ever had to do this again I would definately verify who is doing the countertops The only reason I am giving jadestone 1 star is because the installers were great !!!!
So far the process has been all waiting for them. From the time we paid for the stone to the templating has been weeks. Now we wait again to hear from them about an install date which they said to hear from them could take 10 business days and possibly three weeks before actual install after that! We were refused when we asked to escalate the matter to someone. They have the contract to install for @ikeacanada You pay upfront at #ikea then wait for Jadestone. After we paid we heard that they were guaranteeing install before Christmas as a promotion. This promotion must not apply once they have you money or they back burner IKEA customers. Looking like Christmas without counter top in our new kitchen unless they decide to shift some priorities. You will know how this ends if the review is still posted. They still have time to make it right with us and I will delete *One star because the template guy was very friendly
Update: I finally received a cheque for the additional cost I incurred so I appreciate Jade Stone sorting this out. As I said previously, their workmanship was excellent and the staff very pleasant to deal with. We bought a countertop through Ikea and Jade Stone is the contractor that did the job. They did a fantastic job except for one thing - they cut the opening for our cooktop the wrong size - too big. To cut a long story short this has been going on since Dec 22nd, we decided to swop our cooktop for a larger one which was cheaper and better for everyone but we ended up having to pay a re-stocking fee of over $400 which of course we wanted to be reimbursed for. Ikea have wiped their hands from the whole issue even though we paid Ikea not the contractor and today I heard that there is a cheque on the way but it will still be a few more weeks. Really? How long does it take to do the right thing by a customer?
We had a very nice lady Emmacome to our home to measure for new quartz countertops for kitchen and bath and to give us a estimate. We set up an appointment for 12:00 today to meet Emma at the store in Dartmouth to make final decisions on the order. When we arrived were informed that Emma was not available as she was elsewhere.Very disappointed and a wasted trip.Service: Countertops
