Incredible food and great prices! Quarter chicken dinner is to die for. Our waitress was super friendly too :
Went for breakfast because the menu looked great. Eggs Benedict were okay, not a proper hollandaise sauce and the eggs poached hard. Has a nice patio set up though. Fries were just soft and greasy, would be nice to have a crunch. We usually get fish for take out and that's good but again just soggy fries. They forgot our side of beans on our take out last night we got.
Fantastic place ! Highly recommend the Captain's Platter but come hungry it's very filling !
Like always, Jack's food is prompt at getting to the table. The wait staff are friendly. We had halibut and fries for two. I would suggest that if you are two, consider getting a smaller portion. There were alot of fries, mind you they were good. The halibut was delicious.
I've been coming to Jacks for years and loved coming here. That being said, lately I have found that the quality and quantity of food is going downhill. Chicken tastes dry, the amount of rice they give you is a small scoop and is dry. Ordering 3 eggs for breakfast is extremely tiny looks like 2 eggs at most. Also, the washrooms seem to always be out of soap or paper towels and the tables/floors not very clean. My last 3 visits have all been disappointing and I might start checking out the other places in town. It is a shame as these things can easily be fixed if the Owner wants to.
usually this restaurant is A1 but our take out meal this time was not good. Onion rings had so much grease we could only eat the few that were on top of the pile since the grease had soaked into the other. Our poutine was great but our order of fries was too over cooked and we could only eat half. Three out of the four pieces of fish were ok but they were over battered and over cooked as well. On a solid high note the staff here are top notch friendly and helpful. Beautiful phone presence! We will eat here again but maybe only the dine in option and not take out next time.
Delicious food with very affordable prices. Most of dishes come with multiple sides. It serves variety of seafood, sandwiches and appetizers. It has a bar az well. Highly recommend. It's decoration is nice and fine , but not luxury.Food: 5/5

Update: June 19th, 2021 I did get the manager to respond whom apologized, worked with me to figure out what went wrong and refund me I did not ask for a refund - mostly due to it's covid, people are struggling, even their staff even when things go wrong. After discussing with the family we do intend to try this again one day, but I don't feel comfortable giving a heads up when because I want to see true change happen, not just when someone gets notified. I appreciate the follow ups - even if I hadn't a chance to respond sorry I fell ill and my spouse didn't verify the contact till days after. So we'll try this again another time, but I want that authentic reaction instead of a planned one, otherwise it defeats the purpose of these reviews if I get special treatment over the standard. Should it better next time I'll raise the rating again. Until next time, please live with a 3s bumped from a 2s. Original Review: To get this out of the way I don't leave bad reviews often - you can view all my reviews to verify that I usually am fair about it. I spent $80 for grease - $20 of that a tip and we ordered 2 hours in advance for takeout pickup. We couldn't even taste the fish because the cook didn't think to shake the grease out from the basket when they finished cooking it. Onion rings were undercooked, some of the fish was even questionable. This was not our best experience here and that's a shame because this used to be pre-covid our go to spot in Lakefield for fish and chips. Today whomever made this, didn't care; the grease was piling on our plates it was so much oil. We did not finish this meal, it was not up to standard - McDonalds has done better than this. Although our pics may show that it doesn't look too bad - well it's real hard to show pics of oil while out for a picnic. It even wrecked our table cover, but since it's black hard to get a pic of it. We won't be asking for our $ back, but we won't ever be going back - for anyone who doesn't have passion for cooking doesn't deserve customers. Again $20 tip and we got this subpar garbage. PS. I will say they did the fries right, I don't get how they messed up the fish itself and the sampler platter.
Absolutely disgusting. Super greasy. Forgot sides to our meals. Waste of money. 3 children wouldn’t even finish their meals. Waitress didn’t even question that our meals weren’t finished and we didn’t want to take it. All felt ill afterwards. Kids weren’t even offered their dessert before we left. We will never go back.
